OP bought their resale contract years before any resale restrictions were imposed thus they already have a blue card.

Right, so they can take their time and think about whether it is worth keeping. It may or may not be.

I'm an "elder millennial," and my younger brother & I really enjoy traveling with our parents, now that we are middle aged adults. But I can't imagine us ever complaining about free accommodations?!

I'm not trying to call out your kids, tho. Maybe the problem is privacy? It seems like for 5-10 pts more per night, you could get three studios, instead of a 2bd. And while you can't get connecting rooms (outside of Poly), you would still be in close proximity. I know that the older I get, the more I hate sharing space.

I don't think privacy is an issue since they have their own bedroom/bath with the livingroom in between us. We also can ask for a lockoff. We just wanted to try somewhere else other than our home resort

Stay a couple nights at Swolphin (or Pop), and call it a day. There's no need to make this so complicated over a contract that's worth a couple nights in a hotel. Plenty of hotels in Orlando, plenty of time to make a choice about DVC/Blue Card.
