Has anyone done this? I don't see why I couldn't, but I'm a little afraid to do it.

Hi there,

I think it really depends on you. You look like you have already done an excellent job loosing weight, so if you already have the momentum going and are good at loosing without the dicipline of meetings than go for it!

I enjoy the meetings a lot! I enjoy talking and meeting to the other people who attend. I enjoy being around others who are loosing. I need the dicipline of knowing that I am accountable at the meeting.

I do think though, that I COULD definately do this on my own. It isn't cheap, but I definately look forward to my meetings each week.

Having WISH is like having a huge meeting. You could probably easily do it on your own if you have the willpower! I have started posting my weekly WW meeting topics on Monday nights. I didn't have a meeting this week because of being on vacation and it was a holiday. Look for it, this way you will get the benefit of hearing what they discuss at a meeting.

Good luck with WW's. I love it! ALOT!

Melanie

I'm with you on this one. I love the WW program, and have been successful in the past, but I don't want to shell out the $10 per week for meetings and weigh-ins. This is my first week of WW on my own, and so far, so good.

I have been doing it on my own since Jan. I have lost 38 lbs, only 7 from goal.
I think you can do it! You just have to journal what you eat....exercise....drink all your water....and stick to it! :)

Good luck!

I have been doing WW on my own since February 18th and I have lost 35#. It is doable if you are committed and if you have a support group (both in cyber world and the real world). Since I live in Italy my only choice was on my own or through the Internet and frankly, I didn't want to shell out the money. I am more successful now doing it on my own then when I attended meetings when I lived in the US, I just think it all boils down to your level of committment.

Good luck!

Thanks for your input and support. I am only an on-line member anyway - no meetings. Its just the handiness of the computer journal, i guess. Being able to look up stuff, and especially figure points for recipes. But I've been doing it since October and my guess is never more than a point off.

Maybe I'll do my paper & pencil version for a week first - I hate to pay a startup fee to rejoin

my Mom (AlreadyexcitedGrammy) and I have been doing WW on our own since Marchish. I joined WISH in Feb, but didn't really get on the WW program until march. Anyhow, we're too cheap too!

PM me if you'd like a computer journal program to keep track of your pts, it's not flexpoints though, and maybe the 123 program. I also have a journal program that I use now in my palm pilot if you'd like that too and/or both!

Also you can go to Dotti's Weight Loss Zone for pt values and great source for restaurant pt values and recipes. Or try WW Buddies for food point values.

there is a ton of information on the web through personal sites and we have lots of WW experts here; and members of the program who graciously answer questions for us non-paying WWers :) thanks friends :)

It's doable if you are at a place where you are ready and in the right mindset to do this on your own.

Feel free to PM me anytime :)

Whosemom, looks like you have an extensive unofficial WW group already in place to help you do this. I'll bet you do great.

I, too, am doing WW on my own as it is $12/meeting and I would much rather spend the money on WDW trip.

I have been doing okay on my own but I must say that I really do like the meetings. It is tough for me to go as I have a 10 month old and a 3 year old.

I did subscribe to etools and that has been very helpful. It is $12.95/month...a little bit better than close to $50/month for meetings. The problem is that you have to get the confirmation code at your meeting, or send a copy of your meeting booklet to join. I guess that is to keep us from doing this on our own. there is also an online program but I don't have any info about that.

Honestly, I haven't really gotten into WISH, as I am not sure what to do other than sign up. I like to read the boards to get info and everyone does seem very supportive. Can anyone shed some light on that? Thanks!

Good Luck!!

I am doing it on my own and have done much better with WISH than when I went to the meetings!!!! We are all here if you have any questions!!!
