We are planning on going to US/IOA next October and had a question. Would it be necessary (because of the crowds) to stay at one of the Universal hotels in order to get the front of the line pass? Or are the crowds/lines manageable? Any info would help. Thanks.

Historically...October is slow but with Harry Potter opening next year all bets are off. If you can stay onsite, I would suggest doing it...you'll enjoy the hotels and the unlimited Express access is well worth it. :thumbsup2

It is ALWAYS great to have a Universal Hotel!

See it this way:

You have to sleep in Orlando anywhere...
let´s say you can get a hotel for only 120 dollars!

The Royal Pacific or the Hard Rock are around 240, right??

Difference is 120 Dollars !

You´ll get the front of the line pass then and you can use it for BOTH, arrival AND departure day.

Let´s say you want the express pass (which is only valid for every attraction ONCE and this one costs between 25 and 50 dollars, I believe...

OK, with 4 in a room and let´s say you´ll be there in a cheap time for the express pass (30 dollars) this would be 120 Dollars. For BOTH days 240 Dollars...

PLUS:

I BET you´ll have the nicer Hotel if you take either of the 3 Onsite Hotels...

Does this make sence??

You will be making extra money if you´re ONSITE :dance3:

Your right and great advice :thumbsup2

I LOVE the Hard Rock...
Royal Pacific was very very good (not as much as Hard Rock) and we def have to visit the Portofino once!

It is a HUGE perk to have the front of the line and for what you get it is really worse it!

I really don´t see how I would buy the express pass for 30, 40 or even 50 Dollars if I can stay onsite and save a LOT...

I absolutely wish that Disney would do something similar with the Deluxe Resorts for example!

What do you guys think about that??

Disney has too many rooms...just the deluxe hotels...to be able to do anything along that line.
