We are thinking of doing a December 08 trip for my college graduation trip.

Have only stayed at AKL before and LOVED it!!

This trip, possibly thinking about one of the MK resorts because I love it so much there and would love the monorail access.

Would really love some type of theme park view. Can anyone tell me or post pictures about how close the park would be from our room? Have seen some pictures but don't know if they have enhanced the quality or not.

It would be $100 more a night so I'm just trying to get a definite view of how close our view would be. Right now, for our possible dates, (I graduate Dec.13 so I couldn't be there any earlier than the 14th-2 hour drive in Florida Resident),
they don't have MK view available. Does that mean they are already booked and I'd have to go with Tower? What is the view difference as far as distance goes, anyone know?

We'd like to attend MVMCP again since we loved it so much. Will it be too late to book once the dates are announced? Since we live so close, we have found that mini 2 or 3 night trips work better for us. I'm also disabled and it just works out better for my body. lol.

Thank you for any help possible!

I stayed at the CR with a MK view room in September. I haven't stayed at the Poly, but I believe the view from the CR rooms is much better than the Poly rooms. Usually you can only see the top half of the castle and space mountain from the poly. From my balcony at the CR, I could see the entire castle, space mountain, astro orbitor, TTA, the tops of thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain, crystal palace, and the lights from Town Square. The CR may be a better option based on your disability as well. To get to the monorail, you siply take an elevator down to the 4th floor, then either take an escalator or separate elevator to the monorail platform on the 5th floor.

As for room availabilty, the CR MK rooms do book up fast. A lot of times they keep rooms reserved for conventions, then release them as the dates get closer and they are still available. If you had to get a Bay Lake view room, you'd still be able to see the MK from the end of the hallway or the 4th floor observation deck.

If you are wanting a theme park view to see fireworks, either Poly or CR will do. But if you want a real theme park view, only a CR tower MK view will do. The higher the floor you are on, the better your overall view will be, but really any MK view tower room will get you a good view. If you are planning on MVMCP, it's also nice to be able to walk back to the resort at the end of the night, and you can to CR. I stayed at CR last week just for that reason. I bought my ticket on Friday for the following Tuesday, and my party was a sellout.

December tends to book up early, especially if you have a specific resort or view in mind. I would book the best room you can get at this point, and keep trying for a cancellation. If having the theme park view is important to you, and you can get it at Poly right now, but not at CR, I would book Poly and keep trying for CR. Also, try playing with your dates a little. Sometimes adjusting your check in or check out date by just one day will change the availability and get you what you want.

IMO the CR has much better views of the Magic Kingdom. We were quite disappointed with our view from the Poly as only the top half of the castle, and Space Mountain were visible. We loved the resort overall, but just felt that the MK view rooms were a waste of money.

The thing that is the kicker for me is the amount of cement view at the CR. I much prefer the lush landscaping and lagoon with the castle you get at the Poly. At the Poly you are out of the theme park (at a resort), at the Cont. you seem to be stilll in a theme park. Just my opinion.
