...am I crazy?? I was thinking of going the Tuesday before T'giving Day to the Tuesday after. I've never been to WDW during T'giving, are the crowds unbearable? Should we stay out of the parks the day after T'giving?

I need advice! Help! :)

I do not think you are crazy. We will be there from the Sat. before Thanksgiving until the Sat. after Thanksgiving. I think you want to avoid the MK on Thanksgiving day and the Friday and Saturday but just plan EC or MGM on those days and you should be fine.

I love going at Thanksgiving. I like to arrive on Thanksgiving day, have a character meal at Chef Mickey's or 1900 Park Fare and go to the parks beginning Saturday. The Xmas lights and activities begin around then. Try to avoid the parks on Thanksgiving day and Friday, if possible.

I'm a Florida girl...and we LOVE to spend Thanksgiving in the world. We've made it a tradition (whenever possible) to be there. You'll even get to kick off the Christmas season right because all the decorations are going up then. There will be some restaurants that can give you the FULL Thanksgiving meal thing, but I almost prefer gnawing on a Turkey leg through Frontierland...now who is crazy here?! :earboy2:

My DH and I spent the day before Thanksgiving to the Tuesday after Thanksgiving at WDW last year. We spent Wednesday and Thursday at US/IOA and there were no crowds. Friday and Saturday at WDW were VERY BUSY but on Sunday morning the crowds were gone. From Sunday morning on there were NO CROWDS!!! Be prepared for a few days of crowds and plan accordingly (relaxing at the hotel, Downtown Disney, and water parks..weather depending). We are planning on going to WDW again this Thanksgiving and staying until the Wednesday after Thanksgiving so we can have an extra "quiet park" day. Happy planning

Thanks, everyone!!!! I've never gotten to see the Christmas decorations at WDW so that's the biggest reason I wanted to do Thanksgiving time!

Where's the best place to have Thanksgiving dinner?

We're going at Thanksgiving too! So you're definately not crazy. hehe We're going our Thanksgiving dinner at the Yachtsman Steakhouse because they are serving a full Thanksgiving meal :smooth:

We have been at Thanksgiving before ... it wasn't as bad as we expected! We spent the actual day in EPCOT and it was not as crowded as we had planned for! Go and enjoy the holiday decorations!

I thought I remember the decorations went up the day after Thanksgiving. Is that still true?? I remember last year we were there for Halloween and MGM had already started putting up some Chrismtas decorations.

Anyone know for sure when they'll be up this year?

That used to be true. Now they are up by Thanksgiving.

GO! GO! GO! You will LOVE it. Our first trip there was at Thanksgiving, and it was soooo magical and memorable. It was soooo gorgeous, and the crowds weren't bad at all. Have fun! :mickeybar

Keep in mind that the weather is a little more iffy in late November.....We went 4 years ago, and we froze. It did not warm up until the day before we were leaving. Something to keep in mind where you are coming from colder weather already. Also, the parks were very crowded...

We've gone at Thanksgiving twice, now, and plan to do so again. The crowds were manageable, the weather not bad, and the Christmas decorations lovely. This year we had Thanksgiving dinner at the Hollywood Brown Derby in MGM as part of the Fantasmic package. Be sure to make your PS right at the 90-day mark!
