Thinking about suprising DH with a massage

I believe their website is "relaxedyet.com". All the prices are on it.

Sorry, I don't know how much massages at the GF run, I think I remember they were somewhere just under $100 but not really sure. I do know that OKW charges $65 for a 1hr massage for DVC members and I think $75 for non-members. If that helps any and you may like to go over there. If you do care to try them out at OKW, I highly recommend asking for Allison Andrew's -- she's awesome!:teeth:

Best of luck ~ I'm sure someone will come along and post who's actually had massages at GF for their prices.;)

AKL spa has massages and IMHO has been the best I've gotten at WDW. Not as expensive as the GF either. Your DH will love it, I had to push mine out the door but he came back and was glad that I did.

I had the best spa treatement of my life at AKL! The GF spa was great too, but AKL is a little less expensive and just as good - at least the services I've tried - aromatherapy body wrap and massage, regular massage, aromatherapy facials.

We just had a couples aromatherapy massage at the GF. ;)

As I recall, it was $250 for both of us and we tipped $50.

Great experience!

Can you get massages at AKL if you aren't staying there (but you are staying at another Disney resort)? Is there any additional fee beyond the massage itself?

Yes, you can. Its the same cost for everyone plus the tip.

I hear that GF is excellent for massage. Prices are fair for an upscale market.

My second response is "Why wait for Disney" :p

www.relaxedyet.com is the web site for the company that provides ALL spa services for ALL WDW resorts. Same people (they rotate around) same treatments, same prices everywhere.

The only difference is the atmosphere at each.

15-20% is customary for a tip for any spa service, except some of the non-hands on treatments (rasul, soaking baths, etc.) where 10-15% is adequate.

From the web site, it looks like a significant price difference. A 50-minute Swedish massage is $110 at the GF, but $80 under Fitness Centers. Maybe I'm reading it wrong, though?

You are reading it correctly, it is cheaper at the fitness centers. Hope your DH enjoys it.

Trish,
I was wondering approximately how much (not including tip) the massage for one person is?? I would LOVE to do this for DH when we go in August, as a surprise for him. It will be our very first trip to WDW, and it will be a sort of 14th anniversary present to each other as well. Even though we will have our boys with us. LOL! DH is not a "relaxed traveler", like I am, so this would get the vacation off on a good start for him, as well as for the boys and I because DH won't be so grumpy. :p Is there a price list on a website somewhere that I can check? Also, do you make arrangements for this ahead of time? Like, before you leave for your vacation if you want it done the day you get there, or can you tell them at check-in that you would like to arrange for it? Thanks for any help!

Yes, to clarify my earlier post, if you get a massage at one of the SPAS the price is the same as the others, at the Fitness Centers is is less, because it's jsut a room with a massage table, and you do'nt have many of the amenities and the atmosphere you would at one of the spas. To me those are important and worth paying for, but I would imagine for most men, they couldn't care less.
