Thinking about starting next cruise in San Juan PR

At the end of this month we are on the Magic. I am thinking of rebooking onto a cruise that starts in San Juan. If you have done this please share if it was good or bad. We will most likely have to fly a day ahead so please share if you have stayed down there and it was good\bad or easy\difficult.

Last year I was on the TA cruise that ended in San Juan, PR. I had planned to stay four extra days to explore and check out the island. I really did enjoy exploring in Old San Juan with all the history, shops, restaurants and bars. I stayed at the San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino which was right on the beach. I also did a kayaking tour of the Bioluminescence Bay which was absolutely amazing. I didn't have any bad experiences and enjoyed my visit but if I would go again I would look at booking a hotel in Old San Juan because for me there was so much to see and I had wished my hotel was closer.

Do it!! It was great. The SC and Hawaii have been my favorite cruises. The ports are fantastic, the water is calm(no crossing the Atlantic), San Juan is fun. We stayed at the Sheraton in Old San Juan. It's walking distance to everything. I would spend two nights in San Juan. It's such a great city. Lots of history there. The food, night life, and ambiance in Old San Juan is just great.

I love San Juan. We visited on a cruise and also before and after the Southern cruise last year. Old Town is great. We also did the bioluminescient bay and went into the rainforest (the name escapes me at the moment). We did rent a car for two days post cruise. Overall, I had a great time. If you don't include Alaska, the Southern is my best DCL cruise. Great ports.
