Thinking about getting a steam mop

I have a Shark also and it's fine. Like you, I have a very large area and it sometimes takes me two larger pads to get through a few rooms.

I have heard that the Hoover Floormate is better but I can't confirm that.

I have the Floormate too... I quit using it for the Shark. The Floormate is very loud, takes way more prep time, and doesn't dry the floor as well as the Shark.

I think I need the shark! We had one that I purchased 12 years ago and mine just died! I loved it though! I rotated cleaning my hard wood floors with that and Bona. I love both!

We just got hardwoods on the entire first floor. I am not looking forward to getting on my hands and knees to cleam them -- does the steam mop work well with hardwoods? Does it wreck the finish? We have a satin finish.
