Hi -
I am thinking about a trip to Disney at Christmas time (after 12/25), but I am curious about the decorations and lights. How long does Disney have the decorations up after Christmas? Thanks!

Karen

:wave2: Hi Karen
They keep up the decorations until Jan.1st. and the Osbourn lights at MGM stay's up usually until Jan. 7th. The best time to go for Christmas is the week after Thanksgiving no crowds no waiting in line for any long periods of time. :santa: Happy planning :santa:

BWV 1-Bedroom sister's trip Sept. 25th to Oct. 8th. :maleficen MNSSHP and :drinking1 :cake: Food & Wine Festival
BCV 1-Bedroom Nov.29th. to Dec.11th. :santa:

Do they put up any decorations that are Hanukkah related or all they all Christmas? Just wondering :)

We were there the first week of January this year and most of the decorations stayed up until around the 7th or 8th. We got there on the 1st and still got to see the Gingerbread house at the GF and the chocolate display at CR and the Chocolate Poly. On about the 4th or 5th the Christmas tree in front of the CR came down and we got to watch the cranes take it apart. They do start coming down after the 1st but, there are a lot of them and it takes more than just a couple of days. If you get there during the first week, you have a good chance at seeing some of the things!!

BTW, it was a great week to be there and we may be going back that week next year too!

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but I am trying to decide between going the end of Oct. and the end of Nov. Either F&W festival and MNSSHP, or MVMCP. I was initially leaning toward Oct., but if the week following Thanksgiving is a good week, is a good week, we may go then. If you had to choose between the two, which would you choose? TIA!

:earsgirl: That's a really hard decision, but if I were to choose, I would go for Christmas. We took care of it this year we are going to both. MNSSHP & Food & Wine are great but MVMCP & Candlelight Processional with all the beautiful decorations is just to hard to pass up. :santa: I guess it all depends on each person if they perfer one over to other.

I know I have seen Hanukkah decorations for sale in the stores, but I don't recall seeing any decoration in the parks. Sorry. I could be wrong, though.

This past Christmas the decorations were still up in the parks for the Marathon Weekend on Jan 7 & 8. Most other years they were down in the parks before the marathon weekend.

Also going at Christmas time. Wondering how to find out when the filming of ABC holiday parade is. Heard last year it was Dec. 2,3,4.

Thanks, Tjls

Just know that when you go Christmas week until New Years, the parks are at max capacity. I found it rather hard to enjoy everything with the crowds. My suggestion would be to go before Christmas when the decorations are still up and the crowds are a lot less.

I've gone to DL many times for Christmas with my family, and I like it better before Christmas. The crowds are always crazier the week after, plus the kiddies are so excited when they see Santa Claus before Christmas day.
