We came back from our latest trip to Disney just before the new year and since then have been researching purchasing a villa/townhouse. The main reason for this would be to have accommodation when we go away and to have the possibility of a property investment. As long as the rental income covers our monthly costs and full mortgage payments we will be happy.
As it happens there was an overseas home expo nearby and we went along today just for some info. It was run by MRI who seem to be a very big concern. After reading up a few bad reports we are being quite cautious about the figures quoted for rentals. They said that for a 3 bedroom townhouse you could expect to have 70% occupancy. Is this figure realistic? we could maybe work on a 50% occupancy to break even.
We are thinking about going for the new BellaVida Resort.
I know that villas and townhouses have a different target market with holidaymakers from the UK mainly going for villas but apparantly this is only 2% of the market. 98% of the market is from the US with alot of them going for townhouses.
Is there any forums, like here, specifically for Villa/Townhouse owners?
Maybe this thead would be better off in the US Community board?
