Thinking About A Chev Cobalt

I expect we will be replacing my economy car in the next 6-8 months. We like to plan ahead and do our research so if/when an incentive or deal comes up we can act on it. We have narrowed down our choices to either a Toyota Corolla, or a Chev Cobalt. Totally different cars, but each have their pros and cons.

We have had 3 other Toyotas, and the quality cannot be beat. Having said that, the pricetag can be prohibitive. Although the interior may be roomier and more comfortable, the engine is smaller.

Chev is the only North American manufacturer I trust (we have an '04 Trailblazer EXT LS that we LOVE). I rented the Cobalt when we were in Florida last year, and enjoyed driving it. The interior appears smaller than the Corolla, but the engine is more powerful, and GM has the longer warrantay (6 yrs, 120K km) on the '07 models, so the warranty is longer than on the Toyota.

Any Cobalt owners (happy or otherwise) with any opinions to offer?

My hubby is very happy with his. I have only driven it a handful of times. I really really like it.

I have a 2005 Cobalt Coupe and I LOVE it. Its a great car, drives easy, turns easy, has a great turn radius, etc.

We looked at the Corolla but couldn't afford one so we decided to go with the Cobalt and couldn't be happier.

If you have any questions feel free to ask or pm me!

I LOVE my cobalt!! I also found out about the cobalt while in Florida this year. I actually wanted to drive which I normally don't. I have the SS and I think it's worth the extra money. If you want to ask questions feel free to PM me.

As it happens, I needed to get some repairs done to my car, so I rented a Cobalt for the next couple of days. So far, I like it better than either of the Toyotas we test drove over the weekend (Corolla & Yaris).

Bought DD a 2006 Metallic Orange Cobalt about 3 1/2 months ago. We already have 4000 miles on it (I'm driving it back and forth to work until she gets her license in January), and I'm averaging approximately 28 - 29 mpg. My mom and I took it to the mall last weekend and she threw a fit because she didn't want to ride in the "little car"...wanted me to take my Tahoe, but once we had driven the 45 miles to get there, she couldn't help but go on and on about what a nice ride it was!

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me! We love it!!
