I expect we will be replacing my economy car in the next 6-8 months. We like to plan ahead and do our research so if/when an incentive or deal comes up we can act on it. We have narrowed down our choices to either a Toyota Corolla, or a Chev Cobalt. Totally different cars, but each have their pros and cons.
We have had 3 other Toyotas, and the quality cannot be beat. Having said that, the pricetag can be prohibitive. Although the interior may be roomier and more comfortable, the engine is smaller.
Chev is the only North American manufacturer I trust (we have an '04 Trailblazer EXT LS that we LOVE). I rented the Cobalt when we were in Florida last year, and enjoyed driving it. The interior appears smaller than the Corolla, but the engine is more powerful, and GM has the longer warrantay (6 yrs, 120K km) on the '07 models, so the warranty is longer than on the Toyota.
Any Cobalt owners (happy or otherwise) with any opinions to offer?
