I've been thinking of surprising DH with a Vow Renewal when we go to WDW next year. I was going to book it all secretly and he's used to me handling all the reservations for our trips (it's not that expensive and includes 4 nights of the "honeymoon"). It would just be us, my best friend and her DH, and my parents. The basic package starts at about $5,000 for us to stay at a Deluxe, I'm guessing. I was going to pay about $6,000 for 10 nights at the GF anyway. That includes the ceremony at Sunset Pointe (or some other location not the Pavilion since the Pavilion is huge and I'd feel like an idiot with just 4 people there). It also includes a dinner reception for everyone. Do all the guests get room and pass discounts like for a wedding? I think it would be a great idea....tell him to put his suit on for a fancy dinner....ask him to take a walk with me to Sunset Pointe for fun and have everyone there with Reverend Jack who married us at the Pavilion back in 2002. We've been through so much...job losses, infertility, deaths in the family....and he's been amazing through it all, even though I've lost it many times.

Good idea? What do you think?? Could I keep that secret?!? :-) Any input on how to pull it off would be appreciated....especially if anyone has experiences with the Vow Renewals. :teeth:

I guess it's possible, but would be difficult. I'm having a custom VR in December. My DH is very excited about being involved. Would your DH be excited about planning? If not, you might be able to do something on your own. I will tell you that our VR has brought my DH and I closer. We have an event to focus on and we have been focusing on our marriage more.

Would be be having an Intimate or Custom?

Let me know if I can help in any way. I've just finished all my planning for my VR.

I deffinatly think it can be done, especally if your the one who always does the planning. They have an add on option for the intimate thats i think $2350 this doesn't include park passes or hotel, so if you can get a good hotel rate (AAA or AP) you can save more money this way, you just need to book 4 nights at any onsite location before you can do the add on. I think it could be great fun to suprise your husband, just make sure that you tell everyone as you go along that this is a suprise and hubby doesn't know so they don't accidentally tell him. It may also be a good idea to have things sent to someone else's house (best friend, mom, etc...) so that he doesn't accidentaly open mail he shouldn't, and use your work number for a contact so he doesn't hear an answering machine message he shouldn't. There aren't discounts for guests on intimates but I'm sure you could help them find discounts through AAA or APs, and they can always stay at a value or moderate if the grand is out of their price range. I think this could be a great suprise, as long as you can keep from spilling the beans for another year.

Good luck

Melissa
