Things you wish you'd never seen at Disney

Oh thought of another thing!

Rats and other nasty critters. They hide pretty well during the day and don't bother people in general but since there aren't walls or solid fences the parks are full of natural wild life. One night I was working the park clear crew at Epcot and my side buddy was clearing the United Kingdom. Next thing I hear is him scream high pitched and a then see a rat about the size of chihuahua run off. He said the darn then ran right over his feet! I was always more cautious at night after that experience. We told the managers and they were like what do you expect you are outside and all the trash was just put out in the bins back there.
I didn't mean to laugh, but oh gosh, that was great.

At least these rats have the decency to stay away unlike NYC's Pizza Rat. :P

We laughed about it a few days later but when it happened it was only our 2nd or 3rd shift on our own (we were all College Program kids) so we kind of instantly had our magical pixie dust bubble broken haha. I didn't care about all the backstage magic being broken but a rat and I was like nope there is no pixie dust here hahaha.

Roaring Fork at Wilderness Lodge, the first week of this month, September. A boy who looked to be three or four kept asking his mother for a straw for his refillable mug. He was asking over and over like kids that age sometimes do. A CM was just approaching him with a straw when all of a sudden the mother turns around and hits him HARD with the back of her hand in the face. He went flying backwards a couple of feet, landed on his rear and then fell backwards and the back of his head hit the hard stone floor. He started crying. The mother proceeding to grab him by his arm and pull him up while cussing him out the whole time. I almost started crying. I was there with my own DS4 and could not believe this. Everyone there was just frozen in shock. It was AWFUL. I told the CM I thought she should call the police. It was that bad. I was really worried for the child. I swat my child on his butt at times, and I'm sure I have yelled at him when I shouldn't have, but this was way, way past anything like that.

OH gosh. I would have called the police myself on that one! So sad to hear all these cases of child abuse. I'm not against a pop on the butt but if you hit your small child enough that the fall and hit their head that is abuse. If I saw something like that it would have ruined the whole trip for me as I was abused myself and things like that are a big PTSD trigger.

seeing a CM wipe down the trash cans at the Plaza and then using the same towel to clean the tables...

We were just there and I saw way too many people hitting their kids. :( I don't remember this on past trips. Some of the kids could barely walk yet. It started to get to me.

tried to ignore this thread, but that woman I saw, still gives me chills... she must of washed her hands five times, and those shorts she was wearing were way too long... and that Bra so confining, how could you do that to yourself... but the worst was the obviously hungry baby that wouldn't stop crying... then she did it, whipped it out right in front of me,,, yep a bottle, gave it to the kid right in front of me,,, oh the humanity... But then it hit me like a bolt of lightning my eyeballs move, my neck turns, if I catch a glimpse of something I don't want to see, I can look away.... No offense meant to anyone, just look away....

But why would I have to lose my spot in the parade so I can feed my child?. There is no need for discretion to breastfeed. Discretion means different things to different people some people so it's a terrible rule to enforce. The original person that complained was about once person Bfing in IASW IMO that's pretty discreet and believe me you would have a far more enjoyable ride if a mom is breastfeeding rather than the kid crying his head off because he is hungry.

I don't care either way. But, if you're someone who needs to practically disrobe in order to BF, AND you pick the most public possible place to do it, don't get bent out of shape if you're on the receiving end of a few eye-rolls, or even some muttered insults.

If you honestly don't care what others think, then there's no need to defend yourself. And if you do care what others think, well it's easier to adjust than to expect others to change their opinion :)

The Great Movie Ride. That's 3.5 hours of my life I'll never get back (or so it seemed). Only twice at Disney has my DH said "never again..." GMR and our (second chance) dinner at Tony's. GMR only got one strike :/

I saw an infant code at Disneyland in 2012. Someone was already performing CPR, and I was on my way to help (I'm an RN) when the EMTs arrived. The mother was just standing by shrieking...I've got tears in my eyes just remembering it. It was awful.

Last month in Hollywood Studios, boy I'd say 4 or 5 stops in the middle of the walk way takes his pants off and does #2
