I am fairly new to this site and have enjoyed all the helpful info. We are going to WDW in July for the very first time( myself, DH,DS 16 and DD13). We have passes to all the major parks and the water parks also. My question is for all of you how have been before. In your opinion, what do you think are the most important things to see-do? We want to get the most out of our 6 day stay. Thanks for all your help.

I would definitely not miss Fantasmic or Illuminations for sure. As far as attractions go - well I would recommend Birnbaums and go through them all and pick them out to your family's tastes. My personal favorites are:

MGM
Beauty and the Beast Show
Tower of Terror
Rock'n Rollercoaster
Muppets 3D

MK
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Alien Encounter
Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin
Peter Pan
Snow White
Winnie the Pooh
Space Mountain

AK
Dinosaur
Flights of Wonder
Kilimanjaro Safari
Tarzan Rocks
Festival of the Lion King

Epcot
Honey I Shrunk the Audience

Those are not in any particular order - I enjoy Epcot there's just not as many "attractions" there. The World Showcase is lovely though - and I must admit this is my personal least favorite park.

If you've got 6 days, that's good. You should be able to cover alot of ground - certainly not all of it - WDW is simply huge - but alot. Since you have teenagers, you definitely need to do the thrill rides, Rock n Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror at MGM - Space, Splash and Big Thunder Mountains at MK, Test Track at Epcot and Kali River Rapids at AK. Make sure they get to Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. If they're daring, don't miss Summit Plummet, it's a waterslide that can't be described - it has to be experienced.

Disney Quest is a great place if your kids like video games. It's kind of like video game heaven and then some.

Have a great time! :D

I think you'll find that everyone has different "must-do"s. Considering the ages of your kids I'd say the must-do's for them would be:

MGM: RocknRoller Coaster, Tower of Terror, Star Tours, Who Wants to be a Millionaire--Play it

AK: Safari, Dinosaur, Primeval Whirl, Tough to be a Bug

Epcot: Test Track, Honey I Shrunk the Audience

MK: Space Mountain, Buzz, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Haunted Mansion

In addition, some other things that I always recommend are:

MGM: Fantasmic, Beauty and the Beast

AK: Festival of the Lion King

Epcot: touring all the countries...probably not that interesting to the kids, but I think it's a neat way to learn about other cultures, and mom and dad need to do the things they want too!, Spaceship Earth

MK: Pirates

I think the best thing to do is make a list of all rides/attractions by park, give each member of the group a copy of the list and have them mark down their must do's and would like to do if time, and then compare. Plan to hit everyone's must do's, and as many of the would like to's as you can.

Don't forget to schedule an afternoon poolside - don't tour. Just relax. You will not be able to "see it all" so relax and enjoy all that you do see!

Your kids would probably like Tarzan Rocks over in Animal Kingdom!

Take advantage of early openings and late closings. Be there when the park opens and get as much as you can done before 10:00. Crowds at mid-day are the worst, making this a good time for some relaxation at your hotel pool. If you are not interested in the parades, this is a good time to find somewhat reduced lines at the rides, however, the parades ARE good and recommended. Two to three hours before closing, the crowds die down considerably, (excluding AK), making this a great time to catch some rides and/or get Mickey's autograph at the Judge's Tent.

If you have a solid, yet flexible, plan of what you want to do and see at each park, you should be OK. BTW, we've never been to Blizzard Beach, but I've heard that it reaches capacity pretty early in the morning, so once again, wake up early and get there early.

Have a great trip!

Everyone has been very helpfull. Thanks so much. I like the idea of having my kids write down what is important to them (along with my hubby and myself) and then comparing what everyone has written. I am sure our vacation will be wonderful.

I also recommend eating at Chef Mickey's & give 50's Prime Time Cafe a try, it's great fun!

Have a magical trip!!!:earsboy: :earsgirl:
