things to do in orlando

We are doing Disney in Dec and now have a credit to use up for airfare by next aug. We are considering going back to Orlando and doing things other than Disney. I know about Universal Studios and Sea World. What else could anyone recommend. My kids LOVE the pools at hotels so if you know of any great pools, we like shopping, eatting sightseeing, mini. golfing etc. We usually go to Mrytle Beach but would like to try a different area. What is the closest beach to Orlando?

How often have you been to WDW? It would also be an ideal time to buy annual passes and use them on both trips. If you are visiting WDW during the busiest time of December, it is much more pleasant to make shorter daily visits to the parks (which doesn't seem so expensive if you're using an annual pass).
