Any ideas for seeing fall leaves?
The Mohawk Trail is an awesome place for foliage.Just look for Rt.2 (same thing for a stretch) on a map. If you called
AAA or got a Ma. tour book it would lead you here. I happen to live on Rt.2 on (Mohawk trail section) and the foliage is outstanding.
I live near a town called Shelburne Falls and there is a lot to see/do right here. We have a glass blower where you can watch them do the actual blowing (of course there is also a store where you can purchase said glass), some great restaurants and a local healthfood/organic store called McCuskers Market (my DS works there) that has a great deli, the "famous" Bridge of Flowers, the Glacial Potholes that you can see from a nice deck next to our local candle company "Mole Hollow Candles". Not as big as Yankee Candle, but that's not a bad thing either. If you came in the winter we even have our own ski area....Berkshire East.I believe most of these places have site's on the web if you cared to look them up.
You just missed the Bridge Of Flowers foot race. It's supposed to be one of the hardest races...but since I don't run I couldn't tell you that for sure
It's a nice area to visit.Actualy, it's a nice place to live too!
BTW, I just looked up the sebsite for you. Go to
www.shelburnefalls.com and thre is all kinds of info on the stuff to do here.Remember,it's not near Boston (other end of the state) but I'd rather visit here than Boston any day of the week. It's not on the website, but if you want theatre there is also a company called Ja'Duke Productions that puts on plays at the Shea Theatre in Turners Falls. My DS is involved with them and was just in Aida. They are doing Fiddler on the Roof this fall (DS's not in that one) so we even have theatre in the hills of Ma!
