I know this isn't a Disney question, but after a day at Disneyland, we are going to go to L.A. It's going to be my first time, so I have a few questions.
*What attracations and activities are there to do there?
*Are there any fruit orchards where you can pick your own fruit in the month of March or April?
*How far is the Four Seasons Hotel and Beverly Wilshire from Disneyland?

Any other helpful info. would be greatly appreciated.

I haven't been out to LA since 1988 so I am no help here... just giving you a bump :)

You might try posting your question over on the DLR board:earsboy:

You can go to Universal Studios if you want to do a theme park or you could go to Graumans (sp) Chinese Theater and see where all of the stars put their hand and feet prints in.

There are the TV studios or shows you could try to get tickets for....Farmers Market....not sure I know of any fruit places in Los Angeles to get fruit from...in Sept and Oct...out in Riverside you can pick Apples...that is cool.

Hope this helps!

You can (window) shop on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills! That's right up the street from the Beverly Wilshire! You can have lunch at the Cheesecake Factory which is the next block over (forgot the street name ~ haven't lived there since 1995!) The Beverly Wilshire/Four Seasons will be quite a hike from Disneyland because you just don't know traffic until you've been to So. California!

Regarding picking your own fruit....you could probably check out Anaheim's chamber of commerce. If there is a place to do that, it would most likely be in Orange County somewhere.

As holycow mentioned, you can get free tickets to see TV shows being taped. There are always TV reps at Mann's Chinese Theatre handing out free tickets. Mann's is fun to see the footprints & handprints of many stars. If you go to Mann's, you must walk up & down Hollywood Blvd to check out all the Stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Farmers Market is a neat place to visit too & usually CBS reps will be wandering around also offering free tickets to Price is Right or whatever CBS is offering at that time (since CBS is adjacent to Farmers Market.)

Redondo Beach is another fabulous place to visit & have lunch at Tony's on the Pier. They have the best salads & seafood!

If you have time to drive to Marina del Rey....that is an awesome place to see, & you can have lunch down there & visit the shops. Or go down to Santa Monica & visit the pier.

If you're into the night scene....Westwood Village is a fabulous place to visit. There are some really great clubs down there with fantastic jazz bands playing. (Not that far at all from Beverly Hills.)

Wow...I just realized how very much I miss living in So. Calif! :( :( Wish I were going with you as your private tour guide!!

If you did come as our private guide tour, that would be so convinent.
K, next question-from L.A. going back to Las Vegas, what cities/towns will we go to? How far is that place from L.A., and what things are there to do?

Thank you all for the previous info.

<font color=navy>I live just about 15 minutes from Redondo Beach Pier, so I can second Tony's for dinner - especially when the sun sets.

We have a link at the top of the Disneyland Board that has some things to do while in Los Angeles.

I like taking people to the La Brea Tarpits (the ones destroyed in the movie Volcano). Rodeo Drive is just a couple blocks west of the tarpits and Farmers Market is a mile or two north of the La Brea Tarpits. While you're there, you can then go up Sunset Blvd. & Hollywood Blvd. & sightsee. You can then go to Mann's Chinese Theater & see the stars on the boulevard.

Do you have a full day? You can drive down to Oceanside, drive inland on Hwy 78 to Julian, and then go to Anza Borrego ... that ride will take you from the ocean through farmland, the mountains (w/yummy apple pie), and then to the desert, where the flowers should be in bloom. It's a great day outing - but it takes all day.

If you want to pick fruit, you might want to drive to Oak Glen, about 1.5 hours from Disneyland - this is at the foot of the San Bernardino Mtns, and they grow a lot of fruit/veggies during the year. I'd recommend going to the Riley Farm, where they have an old school house, and you can make candles the old fashioned way, and keep them. There is also a petting zoo up there, and local entertainment. We usually go in September/October for picking apples and pumpkins, but I know they also have strawberries, raspberries, etc., that you can pick, and might have some spring fruit in season to pick.

There are also a lot of strawberry fields on the way to San Diego, close to Carlsbad - kind of near Legoland, and they might offer fruit pickings there.

Do you want to see tidepools? If the weather is nice, you can go to Whites Point at the Palos Verdes Peninsula, and see the animals at the tidepools. There is also a marine museum - Cabrillo Beach Museum, which is interesting, and has hands-on tidepools there. You can then drive around Palos Verdes, and stop at the Wayfarer's Chapel - beautiful glass chapel overlooking Abalone Cove (used in the old days for smuggling). As you round PV Peninsula, you'll see the Point Vicente Lighthouse - and the old entrance to Marineland - below that is where they filmed the fort scenes for Pirates of the Caribbean. If you're there in April, stop at the Lighthouse, and see if you can see any whales on their way back north. You can probably also see Catalina Island (on a clear day). Leaving Palos Verdes Peninsula, you'll arrive at Torrance Beach, and you can see Redondo Beach Pier in the distance, where the restaurant Tony's on the Pier is. There are two Tony's restaurants - one is Old Tony's. We like the Tony's fishmarket, because as the sun sets, you can see the condo lights turn on along the beach. also, if you sit near a window, you can open it and listen to the waves hit the beach -- very nice. (The rascals and I took Dan Murphy there when he came to visit a few years ago) Sunsets are wonderful there.

We've got a bit of everything here in Los Angeles. You just gotta decide what you want to do. :sunny:

LA to Vegas is about 3 hours, on the 15, you will go through Baker, Barstow and Primm. There really isn't much at eany of them, tho Primm has a Outlet mall and Baker has the world's tallest thermometer and the BEST Greek food outside of Europe (The Mad Greek)!

Also, while you are in LA, consider going to Santa Monica and visiting the pier. It's wonderful shopping, and great atmosphere. You could also go to Muscle/Venice Beach while you are visiting LA. And of course, try to get to the LeBrea tar pits and maybe Sunset Blvd. But, make sure you only go to Sunset and Gruman's in the daytime. They aren't so safe at night!
