OK - my turn to ask for some advice.

As you can see by the countdown thingy at the bottom of this post, our next DVC trip is fast approaching. As we usually do (since we fly in from Phoenix and won't get on property until 5PM) we are spending our first night in a non-SSR studio (this trip: BCV), then checking into SSR the next morning. We are really kind of fuzzy that first night, so we don't go to any parks - which leads me to my question:

What kinds of simple things are there to do around BCV that first night?

When we did VWL, we toured the property, had a light meal at Roaring Forks, watched the geyser and rode the boat from WL -> FW -> CR and back. Same for OKW (well, boat took us to DTD, not FW ;) ). You get the idea. Nice, simple things that don't require much mental effort (no cracks, rinky and greeny!)

Thanks every so much!
Be well.

You could ride the boat to Epcot and then on down to MGM, or just enjoy Storm-a-long Bay or walking the Crescent Lake loop.

Share a kitchen sink at Beaches and Cream then roll over to the beach and watch the sunset!

Listen to Magicmommy. Beaches & Cream has the best burgers down there. You can stroll the BW, take a stroll along the water towards Swan & Dolphin. Make sure you check out Stormalong Bay. Best pool in WDW.

You could walk over to Fantasia Gardens and play a round or two of miniature golf. The exercise might come in handy if you stop off and eat a kitchen sink first.

I assume no AP, that is the beauty of AP-dinner/Illuminations at EPCOT from BCV on arrival night. Without it-check in, dinner at B&C, SAB (or boat ride, walk the BW shops or rent the bikes) then walk over to IG area or the bridge for Illuminations. Its all good. :thumbsup2

I second the Jellyrolls idea! Lots of fun!

We would recommend a relaxing bite and beverage at Crew's Cup. Much more relaxing than B&C in our book.

Then stroll into Epcot or take a ride on the boat circuit. Amble down the Boardwalk if you like that kind of thing.

Be sure to catch Illuminations from your balcony if you are on the Epcot side and can deal with some obstruction or from Epcot if you can't.

The BCV pool is a nice size and should help work the kinks out from a long travel day.

Have fun at BCV and at your SSR home. :thumbsup2

walk over to the BW and rent a surrey bike and pedal off all those consumed calories from Beaches and cream. Our family had a blast with the surrey bikes!

I second or third the SAB idea. You won't be able to pool-hop to it after you check out of BCV, so take advantage of your night there!!! Eat a quick dinner at Beaches and Cream, then swim for a little while. Then check out the Emporium and finish off with some gelato - yum!

Thank you all so much for your suggestions; these were just the kinds of things I was hoping for.

Hadn't even thought about SAB, but that is a unique opportunity. Will have to check out B&C and CC - we'll eat at one of them, depending on our mood.

We've already figured on a night at the BW & Jellyroll's - great minds think alike!

And a boat ride with some local strolling about will be on the list, too!

Yes, we do have an AP, but have dinner plans at EP later in the trip.

Hmmmm; many next time it'll have to be TWO nights at BCV....

Thanks again,
Be well!

DrTomorrow, even if you are eating dinner in Epcot later that stay, there is nothing like seeing Illuminations and walking back to your villa at BCV. We try to catch Illuminations every time we stay at BCV.
Does the Flower Power concert that night appeal to you?

Have a great stay!

Bobbi :goodvibes

If you're bored, ask about the chances of my waitlist coming through for Oct. 8th;) .

Enjoy your trip:banana: .

Hey Doc, seems like we are on the same vacation rotation :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

We like to take our ice cream out on the beach and sit in the loungers. Then we walk around the lake.

On another thread, crisi talked about being "lazy" regarding one's home resort, and now I agree more than ever. I never even thought of hitting a "park" that night, as that meant piling in the car and driving (normally not a problem, just not good for arrival night). But with EP a few minutes away, bopping in to catch a 9PM Illuminations won't be any fuss. Thinking along those lines, I noticed that MGM (9A-10P) is also EMH-PM that night: MGM open until 1AM!

Looks like we'll spend some time at SAB, then hit either CC or B&C for a bite to eat. We'll walk off our dinner to EP for Illuminations, then walk back and catch an MGM boat for a stroll through the park at night. (I'm assuming that on an EMH night the BCV-MGM boats will run late....)

Thanks again & be well!

Blah, blah, blah. I still say Beach Club is over priced and overrated.

We have a first night tradition. Walk around the boardwalk a bit and take the boat over to BC/YC, it's beautiful at night with all the lights. Dinner at Cape May Cafe Clambake with pitchers of beer-yum. Then stroll or hop on the boat to Epcot for Illuminations. A perfect first night for our family. :)

Hello:

Please tell me about the AP-dinner.

I have an AP, and never did log into the AP site for 'features', any other major goodies I should know about?

TIA,

Sorry Greeny, that should have been a period (.). The AP justs gets us into EPCOT) on arrival night (dont waste a hopper day), "then" its dinner and Illuminations. AP dinner would be nice though-good eye.
