Things to do at the Wilderness Lodge

Hi there...we are ending a 7 day family reunion at OKW with a one night stay over at the WL. We will be checking out of OKW Friday AM and heading over to WL...not planning on going into the parks until that night around 6:30pm (dinner at Tutta Italia). Besides swimming and relaxing what are other things to do and not miss around the resort? Can you rent the small boats to ride around the lake?

There is a marina at the WL and you can rent the watercraft. You can rent surrey bikes and ride over to Fort Wilderness and explore the grounds.

I have also heard there is a list of Wilderness Lodge Hidden Mickey's. We plan on doing this during our upcoming stay.

One other thing you might want to consider is asking if you can be the "flag family" on a particular day. This will require you to rise early on a day, but basically they take you up to the roof, and you help raise the flags that fly on top of the main lodge.

You then have a bit of time to take what are some breathtaking pictures of the views from the roof. It's kind of a neat experience.

Go over to Fort Wilderness (you can take the boat that goes to MK to get there) for the Campfire and Smores afterwards they show a Disney Movie on an outdoor screen.

Ask about the Wilderness Lodge tour given by Ranger Stan. It is a beautiful resort to relax by the pool , sit by the main fireplace or go up to the 3'rd and 4'th floor fireplaces above the front entrance and curl up in the leather couch, enjoy a drink and read a book

I second the tour by Ranger Stan. We did this two years ago and it was really great.

We walked over on the nature path to Fort Wilderness and saw the horse barns and then did the campfire and took the boat back to WL.
