We will have a day or two prior to our park days to enjoy DTD and take the kids to Goofy's Kitchen. What are some fun and relaxing things we can do at GCH and DLH? We will be staying offsite.

Not sure if the kids would like this, but I like to listen to the pianist in the lobby of GCH, very relaxing, and they take requests! You can also go to Trader Sam's for lunch one day, they serve food like burgers, wings, flat bread pizza, etc. It's a fun place too because the bar area is "enchanted" (if you order specific drinks, special effects happen and other things too) Minors are allowed in Trader Sam's before 8pm.

Hi Tigger Trainer,

Besides eating at the places within the Disneyland Hotel and the Grand California hotel, you can shop in the gift shops in the two hotel lobbies. You can also walk around on the grounds of the two hotels. The grounds are beautiful! Hope you have a great time. I would be willing to answer more questions if you have any.

There are a few cute photo op moments for your kids in the DL Hotel - teacup chairs in the check-in area and a model Autopia car near the entrance to Steakhouse 55.

I agree about Trader Sam's, it'd be a great place to have lunch one day!

The lobby of the Grand Californian also has a small sitting area where they play cartoons for kids, they may enjoy checking that out for a bit.

This was a fun activity, and our daughter received a cookie from Whitewater snacks as a prize at the end.

About how long did the Grand Quest take you/your daughter to complete? I am looking at this as a possible idea to do on our arrival day if we have to wait awhile before the room is ready (we tend to drive and end up a few hours before check in time) to help the kids get the wiggles out after 8 hours in the car :) It sounds like a lot of fun to me, that's for sure!

:)I would guess an hour or so. It was a couple of years ago. My daughter loved it, and the cookie was a big hit - I hope the cookie is still a part of the quest.

Well, I can't completely remember, but I know we had to go into Acorn Gifts to get a "secret word" from a cast member, and there was a question about the beautiful grandfather clock in the lobby. That's as much as I have clear memory of, sorry. :-)
