Things to do at Port Canaveral?

Okay, here's the deal. Our flight doesn't leave until 8:05 PM the day we come back from our cruise. We are thinking of having a town car drive us and pick us up but it would be too expensive for them to pick us up at Port Canaveral and then take us to MK and then back to the airport from there.

So my question is, is there anything to do at Port Canaveral within walking distance of where we debark?

TIA

I don't think there is anything at the Port except the "port".

Maybe you could rent a car and drive around the area for a while.

someone will chime in and give more suggestions.

go to downtown disney or spend the day at one of the parks ....or see if you can get a day room at one the hotels so you can hang out by the pool ....

Take the timeshare at Ron Jon's Resort and see if you can get a day pass. Spend the day using the pool and water slide. I just stayed there for 3 nights. The weekend was flooded with people who had "day passes" It might be something to check into. It is very close to the Port. You can see the ships from the property. You could also spend the day at a public beach like Cocoa Beach.
Otherwise the only other thing in the area is Kennedy Space Center which is 15-20 minutes away.

Good morning - unless you have transportation to get around Cape Canaveral, Cocoa Beach etc, there is really nothing offered here except the beaches --I have suggested many times to the City of Cape Canaveral and Cocoa Beach that something should be done for entertainment not only for the adults but children as well - the spaces that could have been used for such is now being developed into either condos or hotels - We do have the Kennedy Space Center which is really very much worth the time and monies but again you need transportation.
We did have manatees, but due to the over abundance of "growth", we no longer have the manatees or the dolphins playing in our back yard river as we once did. We have a "Manatee" Park right behind the Radisson, but I understand now they are having scuba lessons in that area so wildlife is scarce. Wish I could have offer more suggestions, but having to take a reality check, I failed.

ps if you decided to hang around here, know you can call the shop if you need help with anything or questions

I live in Orlando and willl let you mow my lawn to kill time if that helps? Heck forget the towncar, for a day of yard work I'll send one of the kids in the Ford to pick you up. Just think how nice it'll be to get back home already adjusted to the daily grind of life as we know it. :rotfl2:

Accually, with that much time you can rent a car and go about anyplace big(MK) or small(Gatorland). There is plenty of places just waiting to put a smile on your face and squeeze out that last nickle. You could take a stroll aound downtown Disney, play mini golf on international drive, spend a day at Wet and Wild Water park just to name a few. Rent the car at the nearest Budget and return it to the airport at OIA that night. I hope you have a great cruise!

PS If you choose Gatorland, I live about 4 miles away and the grass isn't getting any shorter :goodvibes .

We saw many manatee at the park just last month-April. My kids wer fasinated and we had a hard time getting them to leave so that we could board the ship.
