Things to do at Aulani if not staying there

I'll be in Honolulu and figured I might visit Aulani for character breakfast. Is there anything else I can do at the resort as a non-guest?
For example, are there any character greetings outside of the character breakfast that non-guests can do?

I recall that you can walk around the lagoons in Ko Olina even if you're not staying at any of the resorts.

I believe you have to be a resort guest for the character breakfast. All character greetings are for resort guests only.

Aloha,
The character breakfast you will be able to have your own private opportunity to take photos with Mickey/Minnie and the other characters that are in the Makahiki. We have never done character breakfast since we see the characters throughout our stay and the day. Typically, our mornings are spent with one of us reserving chairs while the rest of the family gets ready to come down, so yeah!. Anyhow, being a non-guest, you are limited to doing anything on property since the cast members who are partnering with the specific character throughout the days usually scans the line of guests that are waiting to take pictures to make sure we all have wristbands or some type of room key, etc. I noticed them doing that on our stay this past week. You are able to enjoy the lagoon though (right outside the pool area) but of course, to rent any of the beach equipment, you do need to be a guest. Other than that, you can enjoy the snack stands, etc. but would need to pay with card since the only form of payment is billing it to the room or ccard. Hope you have a great breakfast!

The lagoons are all public beaches, there are public parking lots you can go to and walk around them. You just can't use the chairs or other amenities set out by resorts. There will also be public restrooms and showers at the lagoons that anyone can use.

At Aulani specifically, the shops, sit-down restaurants, luau, and spa can all be used/booked by people not staying at the resort. They will also validate parking for the spa or restaurants. If you just want to walk around, there is a tiny parking lot on each side of Aulani that is free and open to anyone (but not for overnight). There are also larger lots by Paradise Cove or Lagoon 4.

Thanks for the tips about the parking lots! I'm not planning to do any spa services but I was sort of imagining a day starting with character breakfast and then checking out the shops and lagoons.

That should all work, just make the breakfast reservation as soon as you can.

What about the tour of the resort? Can non-guests do that?

Also, not a live character, but there is the wooden Stitch statue near Aunties that would make a good photo op.

You will need to call them and ask about being able to eat at Makahiki. They seem to go back and forth on limiting it to resort guests. I think during busier times they do this. You can also go to the gift shop, eat at any of the counter service restaurants, walk around, and enjoy the lagoon(since that is not Disney property). You can not use the lounge chairs either by the pool or on the beach, or use the actual pool.
