just back from our 1st WDW family trip w/ 2 yr. 10 mo. DD & 6 1/2 mo. old DD.
1. we had my mom w/ us & could NOT have taken the busses daily w/out her. w/ the diaper bag, 2 strollers, camera bag, etc!
2. we had 2 single strollers b/c the 6 mo. old needed to eat in her stroller daily - it was the right decision (instead of our double). we really needed this - we used infant highchairs at Crystal Palace & Chef Mickey's b/c they're offered there but otherwise brought our stroller in everywhere for the 6 mo. old to eat in. plus she ate in it in our hotel room for breakfast everyday. the Biergarten was the only one that said, NO to the stroller - but my frustrated DH went to get it after we struggled to feed her in the restaurant highchair. our server didn't say anything - there was no one at the tables to either side of us for the 1 1/2 hrs. we were there - a slow night off season.
3. we used the baby bjorn on some rides, esp. the bumpy ones like the AK safari.
4. we used plastic rain covers almost every night, not b/c of rain, but b/c of the cool, windy conditions at night - my DH wouldn't have toured at night w/out them...he was so glad that i brought them.
5. both girls did fine on the rides...the 2 yr. old only got scared once in the room as you enter Haunter Mansion at MK but was fine after that. she was quiet & still on things that scared her but we talked to her throughout these experiences. i recommend having them on your lap - like during bug's life, etc. she felt more secure.
6. naps can run long...either they didn't fall asleep right away or they slept longer than expected - my advice is not to have a lunch PS and a dinner PS on the same day - i unfortunately did this on 2 of our 5 days & it was stressful esp. when the parks close early offseason.
7. i bought disney princess night lights bought at the Dollar Store & used them in our POP room - perfect.
8. important moments for the 2 yr. old - she received presents in her hotel drawer from characters daily (really from me) & loved this. we used the Mickey wake-up call & put on speaker phone. she woke up Tinkerbell at MK. Met snow white & cinderella in the princess room at Toontown. loved the character meals at CP & Chef Mickey's. loved the pool at Pop. got autographs & pictures taken w/ characters. loved rides & shows.
ANY QUESTIONS? i'd be happy to help out like the DIS did for me before my trip. thanks.
