When our family goes on rides we leave everything in the stroller (covered, but in the stroller). I haven't had a thing touched, but now I am second guessing what to do for this trip. What do you do with your camera, video camcorder etc when at Disney?

I carry a small back pack and take valuables with me on the rides. I wouldn't leave anything in a stroller that I was worried someone might take.

sometimes we take it w/us... other times we leave it in the stroller... we have never had a problem...

Anything of value we take with us. This includes camera, video camera's and even special light up toys if we think it could walk off (unless we have coats or something to hide the toy).

We have never had anything taken, however, we would not leave anything of value.

I would never leave anything of value in a stroller. While most people at Disney are honest there is always a chance of theft.

DH has a DSLR camera and lenses he carries around in a Lowepro backpack in the parks. He's never had any trouble taking it on rides. I will say that DD and I hold it when he's going on a ride we don't want to go on - EE, TOT and he's never taken it on Kali RR (he's anti getting wet).

Hope that helps.

I'm the type that refuses to "live my life in fear" (my husband is more of the worrier). However, we do follow some precautions. My husband carries a small backpack which used to hold diapers or changes of clothes and snacks, water, treats, toys, that kind of thing. That backpack we would leave in the stroller and never had problems. We always felt if someone did take it, there was nothing of great value in there for us to get too upset.

I carry a very small bag on my body that holds our tickets and camera and phone. That is always with me, even on all the rides. My husband's phone and wallet were always in his pocket.

This is the kind of bag I carry. I have it in about 3 colors: http://www.baggallini.com/product2.asp?product='ZPC369'&Fabric='Crinkle'

Please, please don't leave any valuables in your stroller! Or at an empty chair at the pool! I think there are more thieves out there than ever before and you don't want your cameras/video cameras to walk off.

We don't carry a video camera - just regular point and shoot cameras, plus I have a small cross body bag.

They come on the rides with us. It's so easy to either use the mesh bag on the rides or hook the strap around your leg.

At the pool, I have a waterproof camera that I keep on my person and I have one of those around your neck waterproof things that I put my room key and Driver's License in.
I don't go to the water parks but they have lockers for valuables.

How about a small backpack for your valuables at the parks?

Those work too because on the day before my last day, I always bring a backpack for my purchases since they can't be sent back to the room at that point.

I was going to post a thread about a CM friend of mine. About 3 weeks ago my CM friend had his laptop stolen from backstage at EPCOT. Has no idea if it was a guest of another CM but told me to post he will pay a cash reward if any info on this is leading to the recovery is known.

Carry it? ;) I bought a small bag at AK that all the essentials fit in for us. I wouldn't leave anything you'd miss on a stroller. We've had the silliest things lifted from ours' in the past.

Make sure you either have a backpack or small handbag. In November, I saw a woman crying because someone stole her camera and camcorder from her stroller. Disney World is no different than any other park. There are thieves and it's easy pickings because people think that because they're in a "magical" place and that everyone there is "magical" too but they aren't.

We carried our valuables (wallet, camera, DDs favorite toy she bought) with us on the rides in a backpack. We left everything else behind. Our stroller was not a common one there so I didn't worry about people walking off with it, however on our first trip the family next to us had several stuffed animals they just bought their kids dissapear so we put the kids new toys in our bag.

I made the mistake once of leaving my new camera in a stroller at WDW. I never saw it again.:sad1:

Don't leave anything you value behind in your stroller. There are crooks even at WDW.

You have been lucky so far. Remember that WDW visitors are like people anywhere. I'm sure that most are honest but you will always have that bad element too.

I agree with the poster's above, but.. I have in the past left thinks in the basket of my ecv. Of course I covered it. But only on certain rides. On Splash Mtn you leave your wheel chair or ecv right on the platform where you enter the boats. Evedn though the CM's are not responsible to watch your stuff, I felt more safe leaving stuff in that situation. Other rides or attractions you are just too far away from your stroller or ecv and we do not leave anything. Besides I always take my camera on every ride for pics, and the wife does not have her purse in the parks but a fanny pack so if you really have toys or something that you will not be using, I would suggest renting a locker. We have done that several times when we bought toys for the kids. Not because we were worried about theft, but because we did not want to lug the stuff around.

I have a small point & shoot camera so I stick it in my pocket when we do rides.

But we have left plently of stuff in the stroller (diaper bag, snack bag, stuff we bought in the park that day, ect). I usually cover the stuff with one of our jackets so unless you lift up the jacket you have no idea what's under it.

the only thing we leave in the stroller was the diaper bag.

we take the camera and phones with us and put them in the netting bag on the seat in front of us.

i would never think of leaving a camera or purse or anything of value in the stroller.

actually does shocks me when i see sooooo much expensive stuff left just because it's Disney

Someone sees you hiding your stuff with a jacket. They wait until you are out of range of your stroller and walk away with the entire stroller. Then they go someplace quiet with the stroller, take the stuff off the stroller and walk away.

We don't leave anything in the stroller that would cause a halt in our trip.

I would hate to think that your memories of your disney trip are lost because someone took a camera left in it. Disney is no different than any other place with massive crowds, and all kinds of people take vacations at disney- even dishonest people. I would not take the chance of losing precious memories by leaving a camera in your stroller.

what do you do with a slr camera if the entire family rides kali river rapids? suggestions?
