They've ruined our little secret!

I'd like to place money on the GTAA paying the author of this article... they've made flying from Buffalo into sounding like a huge inconvience. "Low cost, low service", "almost all plane go through Atlanta"... BULL! :rotfl2:

I switched planes at JFK with Jet Blue. It was super easy and wasnt a hassle at all. I would never take a flight that did a tour of the US before I got to my destination. That's what shopping around is all about, so perhaps our secret is still somewhat safe :)

I also thought the Atlanta part was a crock. Even if you have a connecting flight it's usually same airline, same terminal no need to get on their subway system. And they didn't even mention the really good deals. They said $200 Canadian to Orlando but many of us have done it for a lot less than that. And gas? True but it's only 1.5 hours from Toronto, not like 5 or 6. Also when you consider the dollar is at 90 cents right now it gets even more attractive.

Hey, this doesn´t help me....I live in Edmonton.

BUT I did save $1000 booking our family of 5 out of Calgary!!

What´s a 3 hour drive when it saves you a grand! :woohoo:

People you want to save $$ look at any airport with in reasonable driving distance!!

Saw the article too - how dare they increase traffic in Buffalo!

I almost fell off my chair with the "lack of direct flights" comment. I have never not flown direct!

I live 30 minutes to Pearson airport and 50 minutes to Buffalo. So, for 20 minutes of my time I'll do Buffalo anytime. Plus, that time gets made up in not having to do laps around the inside of Pearson trying to get to the gate or standing at the check in line for half an hour. Anyone ever have to walk from check in to the last gate in terminal 3? I would bet that it takes 15-20 minutes.

As to the part about Atlanta, I have had to use the underground system to change concourses and I got from gate to gate in under 10 minutes. The concourses are laid out in straight lines with maps every where.

I don't really want to slam Pearson, if the price is right I will fly out of there. Unfortunately, the price is not often right and we don't have as many choices of flights per day or carriers. The one (and maybe only one) advantage to Pearson is that most of the flights are direct non-stop to popular holiday destinations. So you save some time but for me personally saving money is a higher priority.

All in all, I say keep those negative newspaper articles coming and keep Buffalo a secret.
