They're sending me 14 MB's?!

I have 14 MB's to customize. 5 of us. 2 days on cash. Then 8 days on Points. Plus we are currently AP Holders (not yet activated but thankfully bought before increase.)
So they have 5 for us for the first 2 days.
5 for us for the next 8 days.
and then 4 for our AP's (5th is a baby and doesn't need a ticket.)

Can I cancel some of them? Will it matter which I cancel and can they just use the SAME MB and activate it for our entire stay?

I've asked this question on previous trips but forget the answer AND I have always been sent a ridiculous # of MB's for each trip (due to connecting reservations/etc).

If you order the right colors, you'll have a nice start on a Christmas garland for your tree.

If you have other magic bands on your account you should be given the option to opt out. If you opt out just have the resort "activate" the one you want to use when you check in and make sure you open the door to your room with each magic band.

I think you can turn down the ones for one of your reservations, but even if you can't, you don't need to use both of the ones that each of you will get because they're interchangeable - it's just like having two keys for the same lock. You can each choose 2 different colors and coordinate them to your outfits.

agree with everyone above....once you have a set you can decline at least the regular stay ones. The AP ones are nice to have in that you get an AP slider - maybe not a huge wow but I like wearing mine - I think maybe, just maybe, when the Mickey head occasionally turns blue (at the turnstile) the CM will realize I know how to do it and not re-explain it to me/ ask me if I am *sure* that I'm using the correct finger......

I do split stays, too, so all of this is old hat to me. You CAN use any of them. You CAN use all of them. It's up to you.

If your old MBs are still on the account, for those people with MBs you should be able to decline the bands. If there are any newbies in your group who do not have MBs assigned to them, you can't.

Even if declining the order isn't possible, you could just NOT customize them for all but the first part of your stay. They will try to give you grey bands at checkin for those checkins, but just walk away.

Now, if the old ones are from 2013ish, then it's possible those batteries will be wearing down.


Head's up. Once you are there and have activated your APs, you will have another set to customize online! Those are the AP bands, but they are no different than a normal band.

Yep. You don't have to customize them, of course.

Remember that not everyone does split stays. Not every AP holder stays onsite. The AP bands are a bonus for AP holders who might possibly not get MBs b/c they don't stay onsite.

On my last stay, I was able to decline bands for me and DH since we were AP, and just ordered one for son.

I had something like this also.. When I had 2 different sets in my account to customize, the decline band option did not exist. After I had my AP bands shipped out, the option to decline the resort bands appeared. I think it's a safety feature so you can't decline them all if there is multiple sets..

You might be able to call up and ask that all but 1 set be declined. Everything (room, ticket, fastpass, magic band) links to the person so you don't need a different band for different things, just different people.

It is indicidual decline. It won't let you decline for someone who doesn't have a MDE account or doesn't have a band on their account.

Declining bands is not all or none as long as someone already has a MB. That's been indicated a couple times here.

You must have only customized one set. There would have been two reservations/sets on your MB section of MDE though. They only send after you've verified the address and customized them in some way (which can just be verifying the address).

No keeping track necessary, apart from each person deal to with their own. So if the op customizes them all they should figure out a name or nickname or number for each person. That's written inside the band so each person knows which is theirs. After that they are interchangeable. Yes glitches sometimes happen but they can be worked out. And glitches can happen with just one band, too.
