I had my children't portraits taken a few weeks ago. Dh went to pick them up today and they were busy. Long story short...dh, waited for about an hour and they wouldn't give him the pictures. They have already been paid for. All the lady had to do was hand him the pictures!:furious:He let her know, he was just there to pick up and she said, "you'll just have to wait until I'm done taking everyone's pictures" (4 families waiting).

I wanted to hand out pictures to my family for Easter so, I'm going to go to the store to try to get them today. I have paid for these portraits but, how in the world am I supposed to get them a day before Easter?

What company was this with?
I had a similar situation happen to me and I had to stand there for almost 30 minutes.

My experience was with a different company, but still that is no way to treat a customer.
Hope you get your pictures tomorrow with no problems.

I would not leave without my pictures....that is just too bad if the girl at the front desk has pics to take...it will only take a minute to get you yours.

I would make a loud enough "disturbance" that she would want to give you your pics to get you out of there quickly.

You need your pics for Easter & that's just not right.

That's ridiculous. Make someone wait an hour for something that would take less than a minute?

Heck, he should have asked the other families if they would mind if she got his paid-for photo package before she got to take their photos. If I were one of the families waiting, I wouldn't have minded at all, and I'm sure the ones that were there wouldn't have either.

Waiting in queue is a PITA, I know. It is hard to know what's going on. It could be that you choose a really bad company to do business with. On the other hand, you could have just gotten one bad employee, who is in no way indicative of the typical service from that business. However, other, very likely alternatives could be that the shop either lost its cashier and could not find a replacement in time for your DH's visit, or due to financial pressures the business eliminated the cashier position and are now expecting a photographer to do work that the photographer didn't sign-up to do. (I'm a software developer. If my company assigned me to answer the telephones, you can bet they'd ring off the hook while I was doing something, that was part of my real job, that required my focus and concentration.)

For all of these scenarios, blame can be attributed, at least in part, on the depressed economy. It has had very substantial negative impact on the service we consumers receive, in all sectors of the market.
