They Tried To Make Me Go To Rehab, But I Said No No No! Updt 11/7: Solo no more Pg.27

Hi Kat!
Can't believe we're both still up at this ungodly hour! :lmao: Thanks for the warm wishes, I'll try my best not to commando-drag my 65 year-old Mom around the Capital and in Manhattan! ;)
Jen :cutie:

LOL yep sometimes I keep vampire hours!

And I totally would be doing the commando touring around NYC especially, LOL. Never been and my BFF just got back with tons of stories and pictures so I'm sort of dying to go.... but Disney calls so headed there first :)

Great update! I loved the pic with Jessie, my DD would love that!! I am glad that Splash wasn't too bad for you! We really like that ride, DD is looking very forward to riding that this trip!

My favorite part of the ride is when the doombuggies turn 180 degrees and transport you as you face backwards, almost laying down. I love the dark leafless tree limbs that look like they're ready to grab at your throat! Yikes! ;)

Did you know that when the doombuggy turns around backwards like that, it's supposed to symbolized you falling out of a window. If you notice, none of the ghoss recognize your presence until after you've "fallen out of the window" and "died". Just a handy tip that I read while I had no power! Enjoy;)

I’m catching up from your arrival at MK—
Main Street looks even more beautiful empty.
I love all your castle photos. They are amazing!

I love the angle on this one!

As I walk towards Liberty Square, suddenly out of the blue, I hear the epic overture from Star Wars. Hmmmm....How very strange. I know I am a huge Star Wars fanatic, but to be hearing its soundtrack clearly in my head at this moment was a little disconcerting. Had my years of collecting thousands of Star Wars figures finally pushed me off and over the edge? Was I finally going insane over Star Wars as my sister predicted long ago?!

For a split second I check my suroundings to see if I was really at the MK and not DHS. I reassure myself that I wasn't anywhere close to Star Tours - that was for sure. ;) Well, where would that be coming from then?!

I realize that it was coming from me!

More specifically, it was my I-phone that was ringing! I forgot that I had changed my ringtone before I left Texas (DUH). I take it out of my bag, and I see the boys are calling me from home.

:lmao:

As soon as I pick-up, they make an important and happy announcement:

"Mom, we're going to Disneyworld!"

I hear the great joy and excitement in Jake and Sam's voices as they enumerate all the rides they want to get on when they get here. I realize how much I've missed them. :lovestruc And although I was really having a fabulous time solo-tripping, it was time for them to join me.

Yeah! That’s great! :yay: :yay:

I decide to ride it again, and with the permission of the butler at the end of the ride, I do not disembark, and keep on riding.

I pass thru a short but spooky tunnel full of empty doombuggies on the way to the ride's beginning, and for a fraction of a second I feel like freaking out!! Imagine yourself all alone in total darkness inside the bowels of the Haunted Mansion, with empty doombuggies as your only companions! :scared:

Fortunately it didn't take long, and I am back where the ride starts. The ghostly maid walking on the moving walkway waves at me, and I set off to explore my mysterious eerie mansion once more.

My son would love that, I am adding that to our must do list!!!
We will be in the MK a lot, including early and late, so hopefully it will work out.

I Love all your trivia!!!

Great photo!

Have a great time on your trip to NYC & DC!

That's cool! I never knew that!

Loving your TR! Can't wait until your back to give us more! :goodvibes

By the way great autograph book! Where did you get it? I'm in the market for a new one and I think yours looks really nice.

I fell a little behind but I am all caught up now :thumbsup2 I love all the little trivia tidbits you include...they are very interesting :goodvibes

I love your trip reports! I read your first one and of course I had to read this one too. Thank you for sharing your trip. I hope to one day take a solo trip of my own to the world, even if for a long weekend.

Dear Dis-friends....

As some of you might already know, Hurricane Ike is heading to my hometown of Houston, TX. As of this minute, the eye of the storm is projected to pass directly over our county.

My household is fully stocked with food, bottled water, and hurricane essentials. Our windows are duct taped. My Tahoe has a full tank of gasoline. We are contemplating about evacuating to San Antonio, but that is still not 100% for certain.

I ask for your prayers for our safety, not just for my family, but for all of us here on the Gulf Coast.

I hope that everything goes back to "normal" soon. I hope to continue this TR of mine as soon as it does.

Thanks to all of you who have loyally stayed with me and my family thru all our adventures.

Jen

Stay safe. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Please let us know how you are doing as soon as possible because we will be worried about you. Mostly, keep you and your family safe.

Hey Jen,

I am so sorry that you have to be worrying about Ike. I completely know what you're going through. The waiting is the worst part. I will definitely be thinking of you and saying lots of prayers. Please update us a soon as you can:) If you want to come east, I have a few couches you can use;)

Lifting prayers for your safety and that the hurricane will pass over...or turn and go out to sea. I'm loving your report..
