I had a great idea to get DD17 Taylor Swift tickets for her 18th b-day/graduation. They went on sale today at 10am. I'm at work and got preoccupied so 1 hour later they are sold out! I'm going to keep trying and I even called ticketmaster but the number is busy. :guilty: I'm so mad at myself that I didn't remember to get on at 9:59am. UGH!

Try StubHub. You might pay a little more than you would if went through TicketMaster but there is usually a good selection. That is where I buy for all sold out sporting events I want to attend.

Try a local ticket broker. As long as you are willing to pony up the cash (at way over ticket price usually) nothing is ever really sold out.

with a sell out as quick as that they will probably add on another date, keep checking the website for info.

google Taylor Swift tix and you'll be amazed at all the sites that will come up, selling tix. You just have to be willing to pay for them! Check ebay and craig's list too. Good luck!

Don't beat yourself up! Even if you had gotten on a minute earlier, those brokers get through the system fast and gobble up all the tickets.

Warning--dd and her bff saw Taylor Swift a couple of years ago. The bff's grandma bought the tickets from stub-hub. She paid $200 per ticket. These tickets were originally around $50 each.

This happened to us 2 years ago, they were sold out 20 minutes after the tickets went on sale.

The only way we got tickets for our DD, is because of connections to the arena that the concert was held at. My dad has worked for years there as an usher and is good friends with the lady that is manager of the ticket office. Because he knows that tickets can get put back into the system, he told her what we were looking for. Lucky for us, they had a set of 2 tickets returned - some corporate deal - and she held them for us, a very short window for us to get there and pick them up.

If we had not had this ability, she wouldn't have gotten to go. I refuse to buy thru a reseller site and the cheap seats were not worth the price they were charging for them.

Unfortunatlely Taylor tickets are mostly sold out before they even go on sale to the public. The brokers have found ways to snatch them all up. I have gotten very lucky and gotten them the last 2 years, through a presale, but most people have not. Our paper even did a story on it, they tried to get them but couldn't.

Also check your local craigslist, or one local to the venue the concert will be at, as it gets closer. Sometimes people have buyer's remorse, or end up with a conflict of some kind, or (as has happened to us) someone gets very sick last minute and just want to sell the tickets to recoup the money spent.

I know one lucky guy here in CT who was able to get phenomenal tickets to a sold out Kid Rock show the day before the concert because I sold him my tickets on craigslist for exactly what I paid for them! :goodvibes

Must not be real popular in Pittsburgh. Don't know when they went on sale, but there are plenty left for Heinz Field. Coworker was just on ticketmaster this afternoon.

I got tickets to New Orleans in the crap high seating!
I was sitting there refreshing waiting for them to become available.

When the Jonas Brothers came last summer you could LITERALLY but tickets for $3 on StubHub. The concert was "sold out", I think, by people who had hoped to make a killing scalping them. A local TV station even ran a story about a guy who paid $2 for 2 tickets - a buck each!

We missed our chance at getting reasonably priced tickets the day they went on sale, but I'll be watching StubHub.

BTW, a WARNING....Many ticket agencies are now using the same name as the actual venue for the events, but instead of .com, they are using .biz, .org, or other suffixes.

My wife was all ready to buy Taylor Swift tickets from one of these sites. I knew it was not the right web address, and stopped her before she was going to spend $600 on 3 tickets. She was 100% duped into thinking she was getting them from the venue. Sometimes, it pays to be cynical / overly cautious.

BTW, this one uses a .com.... but if you click the link, you will see that it is NOT the Philadelphia Academy of Music, but a "secondary reseller".... crap like this is all over the world of tickets.

I am one of those idiots who buys them from the brokers cause I want good seats, or to me it's just not worth it...they look like an ant! I've done this a few times, and got front row to Lifehouse, 5th row for Daughtry, and 1st row for The Script coming in June.
You can wait and see on the broker's sites, or Stub Hub as it gets really close. They'll be trying to sell their tix cheaper than what they'll be listed for now!
For next time, see if you can get info on the pre-sale, maybe by joining her fan club or something like that?
