They killed my Mickey

I know it's dumb but I'm sad.

I took my car in because of a minor recall tonight. Nothing big, they just needed to adjust some sort of hose. Then they informed me I need to get new brake pads SOON. (as in before my trip in Dec. of course).

Well, all was going well and fine until we were on our way to leave. They decided to wash our car and of course, they did not take off my Mickey topper.

My poor little ghost Mickey that I was so excited to get a few weeks ago no longer has an ear. They don't have any more at my local TDS and given that I am going to have to pay who knows what (I find out tomorrow but probably at least $100 ) for brakes I can't really justify buying one Ebay.

Chris ran in and told them (nicely) what happened and they said they were sorry. But he did let them know that in the future, if they wash a car with a topper, they should probably take the topper off for the car wash.

Goodbye poor earless Ghost Mickey...you served the PT Cruiser well...

Lol. The milk bandit has yet to strike again. I suppose that's a good thing.

Also wanted to say that DH also drives a PT Cruiser (since 2001) which I made him buy because I fell in love with it when I first saw one years ago.

I can relate. My DH killed Donald. He went through the carwash, which he rarely uses an automatic carwash. Anyway, he didn't think about his Donald topper. He said all the sudden the antenna was whipping back and forth like crazy and Donald went flying. He wasn't able to find Donald, it was a sad day.

Sorry about you car topper. I have to buy a new one today. I wanted to tell you that Chris must really love you. I don't know many men that would go back in a car repair shop and tell them that they broke Ghost Mickey's ear off. Yes, it is TRUE love.

Sorry Mickey lost his ear. I know how it feels, as I lost my Patriotic Mickey in the car wash too.

And worse yet, my dog chewed up my Haunted Mansion topper before I ever even used it.

Go to World of Disney at DTD when you're there - they've got all different kinds - the biggest problem will be deciding which ones to get!

You know what your car needs? The new Mickey Topper Holiday Pack they sell at WDW. It comes with (I think) 6 different toppers to keep you festive all year! I thought it was way cool!

It is a Mickey head that fits on your car antennae (sp). They come decorated for different holidays and such.

Chris actually went back in and told the mechanic even after I said he didn't have to. He wanted to make sure they were more careful next time they got a car with a Mickey.

That holiday pack sounds neat. I will definately try to pick one up in Dec.
