They just don't get it!

Frankly it isn't an issue for me whether some one "gets it" or not. If someone is interested and asked about our trips to WDW, how we can afford to go so often, or DVC. I explain about DVC as best I can and if they don't "get it" I try again. If after a couple of attempts they still don't "get it" I simply say that perhaps I'm not very good at explaining this to you and perhaps you should contact someone who might do a better job.

On the other hand, if they suggest that I made poor decision to buy into DVC I'm polite but then never discuss the subject again with that individual.

I have no interest in pursuading anyone that I made a good decision by buying into DCV. Their opinion doesn't matter to me.

There have been plenty of times in my life that I've made poor choices, sometimes regretable choices but buying into DVC is not one of them. It is one of the very best decisions I have ever made.

Who cares about those that don't "get it" let them eat cake.

I am single with no kids or grandkids and am in the process of buying DVC points. Even some of you may not "get" why I am buying but I love the Magic and that's all that matters.

I go several times a year (with friends, relatives or alone). I can't think of a reason why NOT to buy. Everyone already thinks I'm crazy for having AP and making multiple trips a year.

I spend a fair amount of time in San Francisco and New Orleans (having lived both places) but WDW is by far my favorite place to go.

Arkansas Minnie

Hi Arkansas Minnie,and everyone else,
We all ubderstand, the others are just jealous....
I just tell people that a LONG time ago we made a decision that vacationing was important to us and that we jsut made it a monthly payment. Because when we tried to save for vacation that something was always coming up. This allows us to always have someplacae to stay.

We bought add-on pts this year and took our 2nd trip in less than a year and my in-laws and best friends thought we were nuts.

We have reservations for next April as well and just had to adjust them by a week because our kids vacations begin the Wed after Easter instead of with Easter. As a result of that change we had over 120 pts leftover, which I can put into '03. But instead, I made a second reservation for a 1BR studio for almost the entire time of our stay and offered it to 3 family members and a friend. I had to spell it out - "you'll have a free room which has a kitchen, etc". My husbands' brothers both declined because one has a 6yr old in school and the other has "kids too young". Lame excuses.... It looks like our family friend, who is my youngest daughter's godfather and who travels with us quite often, will join us for part of the week anyway.

Honestly, I give up trying to entice someone down to WDW. It's not worth the effort. I feel like I'm recruiting for a MLM product (multi level marketing) the way people treat our offer. It's Disney, for goodness sakes, not AMWAY.

WELCOME HOME !!!

You certainly are SMATER THAN THAT.

"WE GIT IT, WE GOT IT, AND WE ALL WANT MORE"

I HAVE EVEN HAD FRIENDS QUESTION ME AS TO WHY I WOULD WASTE MONEY STAYING ON PROPERTY...BEFORE I BOUGHT DVC.

If those people (critics) ever get to WDW, instead of seeing princesses they see people dressed in costumes. There's a big difference.
