As a person with a full friends list I was shocked to find many openings today.
I did some looking and all players absent from the game for 6 months or more have been deleted, there account is gone. Be aware this has just started and the threshhold may actually land at a smaller number then 6 months. If you learn you have lots of space it may not be people got together and all deleted you but rather VMK deleted their account.

I hope not beacuse i have some good friends that i have who have not been on for a long time. I have a friend who has not been on sence 10/9/06 LOL. And he was my first friend. And there is way more that I want to keep. Please say it's not so VMK!

6 months?? I can see maybe a year, but 6 months is kind of short. People have things happen. Some kids may only be able to play during the summer because of school. I think they need to bump it up to at least a year of inactivity before deleting an account.

When you register for VMK, that is your registration with all of Disney.com. So I sure hope they're not deleting full accounts...and perhaps just opening up the use of a character name. That said, why delete them? It's really not using up that much memory for a character rarely in use.

And I agree....6 months is way too short a time.

Are we for sure that VMK is actually deleting them? Or are we just assuming that because some names disappeared off a friends list? I've been known to prune my list of friends from time to time.

Oh I hope not too! I have some that haven't been on since July, but they can't be on again yet. I have received PMs along the way from them asking that I not delete them, and I said I never would!! I know they were coming back. ARG VMK, you have gone tooooooo far!! :furious:

Yeah, yeah, when they get on again they can PM me and tell me where to meet etc., but its just not right in my opinion!

Yes, I am sure spoke to Fin about it to make her aware. While she was not aware of specifics, she said Yavn said inactive accounts and people with too many accounts would have then deleted. One of the people missing is a person I know was on perma-ban but did not wish to delete I know she did not log in and do it. One I know stopped playing and was actually friends with yavn, I have spoke to her and se did not delete it or log in at all for that matter. all others I noted on my Christmas list as MIA all were missing since at least July. rpgman is the only MIA i have left and he was on in October. I have characters I deleted their account and they are still on my list because i did not delete as friend so they will now eventually drop off as well.

If this is true, then it's not right for them to do this without giving warning to ALL players that this can happen with inactivity. As someone else mention, things can happen. And it's not right to start deleting things, especially with no warning about it ANYWHERE on the website, without letting people know about it.

Well, actually, there was a warning about it a couple months ago. Yavn did state in a newsletter that they would start deleting inactive account. He just never said when.

I do wish that they had given a warning a little closer to when they actually started doing it. :(

I have two characters I use regularly, and had two others I used infrequently. I tried to sign on as one of the infrequent characters tonight and got the create a character page with this message on top:

"Welcome back!
Unfortunately, you didn't visit VMK for a long time. According to VMK rules your avatar was removed from the game. Please create a new character and have fun exploring VMK!"

Luckily, that character didn't have much stuff.

The problem with that warning is that because it was in a newsletter, people who weren't signed on while the newsletter was up and people who joined vmk after the newsletter was up never got a chance to see it. If something like this is going to occur, the warning about it needs to be a permanent "fixture" so no matter when you sign on or when you first join, you always have access to that information.

Wow.... :(

I agree.

I also noticed this! i had kept Nanoer on my list to remember but the other dasy i found him off my friend lit :(

Wow, looks like today is a good day to make sure all extra characters aren't holding anything valuable! I'm not worried about me, but I know my daughter had her things spread over two or three characters. She kept switching characters she played with as she and friends of ours made her park characters. Better get them checked today!

The way I look at it... If you are not logging a peep on every couple of months or so, why have them?

All my peeps get worked regularly.

This is what you get for old charachters

And, you get to make a new charachter with it and everything is the same as if you were brand new, EXCEPT - the multiuse codes you already used in that charachter will not work

Does that mean your items are still there? I know I doubt it but of the three characters of my son's that he has not used lately that I got that message on I did not go further than that screen.

When does the screen appear? Before it starts to load the game? Right after you hit log in? Just curious.
