They don't wrap Xmas presents???

Santa never wrapped gifts in my family. He does wrap some of DD's gifts, but some our set up. This is less so now that she's older and doesn't really get much that needs setting up.

At our house all presents are wrapped unless it is something cool that we want the kids to see put together and then I'll do that. Santa brings one present that is wrapped in Santa paper. The rest of the gifts are from mom and dad. Oh and Santa never brings the expensive must haves. He usually brings a game for each kid. No way is Santa getting credit for bringing the good stuff!

All presents (including for dog and cat) are wrapped until it's something huge, then it may be put in a large bag or have a bow on it.

We wrap everything that's wrapable (except stocking stuffers). Half the fun is in the unwrapping! If it's a big present that needs assembling, we'll do that and have it set up. But we try to wrap everything we can.

Ours are all wrapped. Santa has a different wrapping paper too! :thumbsup2

Growing up Santa never wrapped my presents. I do wrap my kids because dh thought it was odd to not do it.

This. :thumbsup2 When I was growing up, Santa never wrapped our presents, but DH didn't like that so we wrap. It makes it complicated though. I have to wrap the presents in completely different paper and make sure to dispose of any remaining paper carefully. I also have to create Santa labels on the computer, so no handwriting is recognizable.

when I was little, my mom had the santa presents all set up under the tree, unwrapped.

DD likes her santa presents wrapped.

All the presents are wrapped but the one's from Santa are always wrapped in special Santa wrapping and tags, with different hand writing on the tags. Even though my DK's are 21 and 18 we still do it.:santa:

Santa never wrapped our gifts growing up, but mom and dad would wrap a couple of easy things, like clothing in a box or underwear. Blech. :lmao: Who wants underwear for Christmas?

We did a mixture with our kids. Big things got put together and smaller things were wrapped. Now that the kids don't believe in Santa, everything gets wrapped.

Everything is wrapped at my house....I think it's bizarre not to wrap presents, but to each their own!

I agree!! I just think it woujld be a big let down to just walk out into the living room, see a bunch of unwrapped gifts and that is that. I love seeing a tree overflowing with nicely wrapped presents. We each take a turn opening a gift with my daughter being the one that passes them out---we even wrap every single thing in the stockings!

Santa only brings one gift and fills a stocking per child to our house and none of that is wrapped. Mom and Dad give the rest of the presents and they are wrapped. That is how it went when I was growing up so I just continued that.

The comment about the Barbie house makes me giggle. When I was little my darling uncle put together a Barbie Dream House for Santa...he apparently stayed up ALL night to get it put together. He showed up for the family gathering at my grandmother's with bleary, red eyes LOL I'm pretty sure, to this day, he develops a tic when he hears "Barbie Dream House". I'm sure he was glad to have only boys :lmao:

Santa never wrapped our presents...but DH (who was an only child so I wonder if this has anything to do with it) had all of his Santa presents wrapped and was horrified to learn that I didn't plan on wrapping our infant daughter's presents. So I let him have his way:rotfl: at least THIS time and we've wrapped Santa gifts ever since.

Growing up, all of our presents were from Santa and all were wrapped. Each sibling had their own wrapping paper and place under the tree.

I plan on doing it the same way when I have children.

All presents get wrapped, even those from Santa. I have special wrapping paper which I have to hide from my DD. She's way too observant for her own good. I will probably have one of my classmates write the tag this year, just in case. The only time we didn't wrap a present was her train table when she was 3. We hid it in the kitchen, but I can't even imagine trying to wrap that thing once it was all set up.

Santa doesn't wrap here - I won that battle when we married :thumbsup2 cause the Santa that came to dh's wrapped! :headache:

All items are put together - with batteries & each kid as a special spot (one on couch, one on chair, etc) stockings are in front of pile so they know whose is whose.

No its definitely NOT a let down - I can remember the excitement from when I was a kid to this day & know to see my kids faces light up its so magical!

As far as under the tree - its still ful of presents every year - presents for the cousins, granparents & the siblings to each other & to us parents. Those gifts get opened whenever we get together with that family (this year we'll see some before Christmas & 1 fam afterwards). So typically the kids open gifts at least 2 times + We do our own small family gifts to each other on Christmas Eve.

I agree. Santa needs to hire some more elves, if he doesn't have enough to wrap the presents he delivers. :D

I'm all for "everyone does it their own way". What's normal for one might seem weird to another. LOL I'm sure it's all in how our own parents did things when we were little.

We grew up with EVERYTHING wrapped, sometimes even smaller things in the stockings. I do the same with my boys.

One thing that I had never heard of until a couple years ago (read it on the DIS) and I never understood is the whole.....Santa gifts vs Mom/Dad gifts? Why wouldn't Santa bring everything? Why does he only bring one gift in a different wrapping paper while other gifts are from the parents? I mean I've read posts where people say that, "Santa isn't getting credit for bringing the big gift" :confused3 I guess since I grew up where all gifts were from Santa and they were all wrapped and I do the same with my boys (well, they're older now, so no Santa anymore) I just don't understand this. I'm not saying that it's wrong or anything (I know everyone does things differently) I'm just saying that I don't understand it. Can you explain WHY you do things the way you do? :thumbsup2

Santa does not wrap his gifts. Mom and Dad do wrap. I thought you knew! :)
