When I was 5 and in kindergarten, my mom sent me 5 balloons to school for my birthday. Each year, she would send them to school either on my birthday or the school day before/after if it fell on a weekend. Nobody else's mom did this, and all my friends were envious. She never did it for my brother. I've already received 2 calls since yesterday asking if I've gotten them yet....my friends still get a kick out of it!
25 years later, she's still doing it.
Yesterday I was in class, and my cell rang (vibrated) I looked down and it was my mom, I let it go to voice mail, but then left the room to check it- the message said "call me as soon as you get this"....flash back to October when she fell I'm thinkin she fell again...
I call back- "stop at the flourist the balloons wouldnt fit in Karens' car"...
I walk in the flourist, and say to the woman "i guess these are mine" She says oh no, the balloon lady is coming back for those....I say, well its my birthday so i guess I can pick them up huh? She looked at me and said- these are for you? I said yeah why?
I guess there's this question at the flourist of who this balloon lady is buying balloons for every year near valentines day. She says- how long has your mom been doing this? i reply with- um 25 years I guess!
So last night there was 1 mylar and 29 latex balloons flying around my living room- this morning there is 1 mylar flying and 29 latex ballons laying on the floor lol.
DD8 just woke up and said - mumma you must be really old they all died....thanks dani, love you too!
