They almost made my DN take her Belle costume off

This happened to us last year. We are AP holders and decided to have dinner at DL before our Mickey's Halloween Treat ('07) night. The CM's gave me a hard time about my DD5 being in her Cinderella dress. They questioned her age and told me about the new "rule" any child over 5 could not wear costumes into DL. Ridiculous, I thought.

My DD10 wouldn't be caught dead in a princess outfit. However, if you called it an Arwen costume from Lord of the Rings, and put her in pointy ears (she did this for Halloween last year) she'd be all over it. :lmao:

I had a friend and fellow mommy at our co-op preschool who sometimes would show up with her daughter, both wearing tiaras. She would shrug and say, "Tiaras happen, you know?" :thumbsup2 Love it! Princesses do come in all sizes.

Glad your daughter got to enjoy her costume wearing, in spite of the arbitrary age rules. :)

You know, while I understand why the rule exists, it is so sad to me that we discourage our kids from enjoying the fun of being the children they are. It sort of seems like a place that is all about finding the child within would not insist on kids becoming "adults" at age 10. I know that's my wishful thinking and not reflective of the corporate ideology, but I would sure rather see a 10-year-old dressed as a princess than in some of the revealing stuff you often see on kids.
