These teens know the meaning of Christmas!

DD (14) is on the board or the local Medical Explorers group. For Christmas this year they decided to donate gifts to kids in the hospital and people in elderly homes. Their party was Wednesday night. DD was in charge of collecting the kids gifts and making sure they got to the hospital. WOW - what a load of gifts!!! There were 20 Explorers at the party and they donated over 60 (I think it was 64) toys for the kids. I do not know how many gifts for the elderly there were, but DD said there were lots of them too. They did not ask anyone for donations, most of the Explorers spent their own money to buy toys. Last night DD had the honor of taking them to the hospital that their Explorer group is based out of. She gave half to the pediactric departmant and half to the ER. It was fun to watch the staff digging through the boxes. They are very excited to be able to hand them out to the kids. I am very proud of DD and this great group of teens.
