These people are driving me crazy!!!!

I am working today; my office does not close early. I have work to do and really don't mind the fact that I have to sit here until 5:30 pm. Alot of people didn't show up today and it's quiet. I am glad I can get caught up on my work. However ...

The few people that did show up today keep on coming in here and making small talk. I've been saying nicely "Yeah, it's quiet! I can finally get caught up on my work!" And they just stand there and babble about how they don't have any work to do. Is it not obvious that my desk is covered in paper and I am typing?

I am obviously taking little breaks here and there, but I'm trying to do it when I'm alone so I don't invite company.

I am trying to be VERY NICE about it, but seriously, these people are driving me nuts!!!

I'm sure they do! But one of them was standing there listing her friends that are getting married in 2010 and the dates.

People are leaving, so it is getting quieter. My boss isn't here today, but she didn't give me any instructions/permission about leaving early. I think it will be around 4:30.
