LOL- I was a 'Burgher, yes, that's true- but before that, even, I was a Rochesterian- and that makes Pittsburgh winters seem mild. EEEEEK! The last year we were in Rochester, we got 167 inches of snow. It started falling and didn't melt until June.

I just saw on allears that President's week has one of the highest attendances. So I might be looking at the plan of going out on tues night late to Tues the next week.


Yep- MNSSHP is during Sept too. I wish I was going to that. It's my favorite. The crowds dring that time, though... not so much.

I think that you cvould plan for a 8-9 pm close in Nov. for the parks, except of course for AK.


I think i know where Station square is. I might be able to find it. Let me clear my calendar.

Well crap, that stinks about the Pres day crowds. . . But maybe it won't be that bad the week before! That will be nice to only have to take the kids out for 3 days. If we go in January it will only be 4 days, but November will be all 5 days.

I just looked at WDW website- they haven't updated past the end of the year. Whas' up wit' dat????


So i looked at the calendar here on the dis with prices for 2009. boy- that's insane.

$205 standard at CBR.

I'm thinkin' that this may not be a good thing.

Is WDW still considered an excused absence up there in your school district? it's soooooooooooo frowned upon here.

I had major issues with the Principal in MCat's school last time we went.

She just is really bad at math, bless her heart- she got that from me--- but is brilliant in everything else-- something she did NOT get from me--
and the Principal said that if I hadn't taken her out for a week she wouldn't have struggled so much in Algebra.



Which wasn't the case-- she'd just been in a different school the year before that hadn't prepared her for this school district's Honors Algebra.

Rates for next year don't come out until beginning-mid August. And then they don't release any specials until November. So it is a big waiting and guessing game.

Yep, I thought mid February was some of the highest room rates!

What about January? Do the kids have any days off then? The room rates will be a lot less then and it will likely be the same deal in Jan as it is in Feb.

Yep, it's an excused absence here. Actually it is considered an "Educational Trip" absence.

We haven't had any issues so far. I'm thinking only a couple more years. Then DS will be in 7th grade and I'm not sure what we will do. I guess we will see how things are going at the time. . . We will probably have to do what you are doing and look for the best time to go during the school year that he will miss a minimal amount of school.

Drew starts Middle school this year- 5th grade is MS here- so I know they will give me grief there too.

They have no days out in April. gawrrsh. This stinks.

I have fond memories of going to WDW in the summer as a kid- but I didn't recognize things like crowds back then.

I'm really liking the sound of the Homeschool thing.

This year the 4/3 deal was out then. . . So maybe!

I need to get to work too. We are having another garage sale this weekend. Yep, we had one before we moved and now we need to have another one! The previous owners left some "stuff" here, plus we just really need to find some more stuff of ours that we can live without! It's hard when I live with 3 boys who think they need to keep everything they have ever owned!

Yep, the 4/3 was Jan-June. And if you went Jan-March you got the $200 gift card! Then I think they extended the 4/3 deal into the summer. . .

Word on the January code watch thread is that they are going to offer it again next year. But of course that is just a rumor!

I just went through all the totes in the basement. I now have several empty totes and another pile of stuff to sell Saturday! Good grief, where does it all come from???

Yes, I keep all my WDW "stuff"! So you're not neurotic! Or maybe we are both neurotic! I keep all the trip paperwork, PINS, brochures, maps, receipts, etc. . . I really do need to go through and get it all organized. A job for another day!

Hi Jo & Shelly!

Yes, I went to DL Saturday and Sunday.

Went down about 4 pm on Saturday and only stayed until around 10 pm. Met up with some friends I had not seen in about a month.

Yesterday we were there the whole day: 9 am-Midnight. We had friends in from Texas and Florida. There was 21 of us celebrating our "VMK" family reunion. LOL!
Hit both parks yesterday. It was crowded but not insane. Very warm though. Wait times for the rides was very low. 20 mins for Indy, 5 mins POTC, 30 mins for Splash, - one gal in our group rode TSMM 7 times yesterday, 10-15 minute wait times.

Saw the Aladdin show again. Very good performance by the Genie.

I will post a few pictures later on.

We didn't get out to Malibu on Friday night. There was a accident on PCH so traffic was snarled. We just went over to Marie Callendars and had tri-tip and chocolate pie. Have to reschedule that dinner date.
