hmmmm. What about the first week of february... I think I may be there then.:goodvibes

I think that week will be great crowd wise. After MLK Day and before Spring Break begins in mid-February! Weather will of course be unpredictable. In January we had days when the high was 50 and days when it was 80. Pack some of everything and dress in layers when you go to the parks. :goodvibes

Well crap! It looks like Space Mtn is supposed to open on November 21st. Suppose there's any chance it will open up a few weeks early?

So as I take a break from packing (and breaking things) I am thinking about where I am going to dine in 4 months from now. :rotfl:

So far I have. . .

Sci-Fi Dine In dinner
Kona Cafe breakfast
Crystal Palace breakfast
Big River Grille dinner
Whispering Canyon Cafe dinner
LeCellier dinner
Turf Club dinner

Need one more. . . . Thinking about Tony's at MK. Anyone been there? I'm up for other suggestions too!

NC suggested the Tusker house breakfast to me.... that way you have something at all the parks.

Thanks Lake. We did Tusker House in January. It was pretty good. But we all liked Crystal Palace better for breakfast. I will need to find a CS place in AK. . . need to research on that, I'm not even sure what's there. Any suggestions anyone?

Morning everyone. :goodvibes

Being a homeowner is hard work. :faint: I have passed out on the couch every night at like 10:00pm

How is everyone doing?

We ate at Yak & Yeti CS last year, and this year we ate at Pizzafari and Flame Tree BBQ.

All were OK. Not great, but not bad either. I would eat at any of them again in a pinch. The baked beans at FT BBQ were awesome - and I'm not usually real big on beans. The pizza at Pizzafari was good, but it's just pizza - you know? And if you like chinese food - Y&Y had pretty good crispy honey chicken.

Well, hope that helps at least a little. :lmao:

Shelly - for a Ak CS meal. I agree with RF in recommending Flametree BBQ- we loved our CS meal there and its on the definitely visit again list. The ribs were YUMMY!!! and you get big portions.
Ethan and I were able to actually share a meal.

RF- I know how you feel my first week and a half have been like that too...just exhausted, but still unable to sleep because I was thinking of everything that needed to be done, and I was up and going by 6 am every morning. I am finally sleeping and settling in.

LOL. Yep, that's exactly it. Too tired to do anything productive - but my mind is still racing and I couldn't sleep for about 4 days.

Plus, I have the added stress of this being my 1st place - so e-v-e-r-y thing that's happening is freaking me out.

The bathtub takes a little long to drain and I am freaking out thinking about how much money it will cost to get a plumber to rip out the tub. It takes Bob to tell me that all we need is some Liquid Plumber and we're good.

I'm just not very handy, and it's a 50 year old house - so I am just scaring myslef thinking of everything that can go wrong. :scared:

Don't panic..it will all be okay. I know it's hard no to worry. I am a worrier myself. But I have learned that there will be an answer to every problem or concern that comes up, and even new homes have them. We even have a few here.
:)

Good morning MAYers!

Lake - I just love your ticker. It gives me hope that we will be actually doing something fun this summer!! :cool1:

Thanks Lake & RF, I will check out the Flame Tree menu and see if there is anything for my picky eaters there!

Busy day here. I let the carpet guys in this morning to finish up. The water guys are there now too. And the cable guy is coming later. Sometime between 12-4. . . . . :faint:

I definitely agree! Crowds were very manageable to non-existent in February with the exception of MLK weekend. Definitely prepare for all kinds of weather. January and February are probably my favorite months to visit as a guest.

Probably not, but who knows....They're only re-opening for the Thanksgiving/Christmas season and then it goes back into refurb.

I haven't been to Tony's, but one of my CP roommates worked there. It was her favorite restaurant before working there, and she still loves to go there. Have you been to Sci-Fi before? I love Crystal Palace and Turf Club is good too!

Third-ed :) Flametree was probably my favorite CS location....the only downfall is the outside seating.

Hi RF! Hope things continue to settle in with your new house.

Hey Jo & NC & Sea & Trixie & Mari and everyone else! :)

I'm getting really excited for the first week of August now! My BFF from Nebraska is coming to visit during my birthday. And I have 5 days off as a result. It's going to be her first time on an airplane, first time in FL, and obviously first time at Disney. I think we're going to do at least on character meal for my birthday and maybe another sit-down meal that week.

Hi Sulley! :goodvibes Good to see you! That's so exciting about your friend!

Make her ride Splash Mountain a bunch of times for me!!!! :lovestruc

Awww, I am starting to miss Disney. Usually after I go - I'm good for about 2 or 3 months. It's barely been 2 and I'm already missing it. :sad1:

And I have a lo-o-o-o-ng time before I go back.

LOL.....It'lll be more an issue of getting me on Splash....Even though I'm braver than I was, I still have a really hard time doing the big rides sometimes.

You have never been on SPLASH!??!

:faint:

I swear.... If you can do M:S - you can do Splash.

I SWEAR. It's the best ride at WDW. It's been my favorite ever since I was big enough to ride it. :goodvibes The whole ride is a really really cute story about the Brer Rabbit and seriously, there's just the 1 drop and it's not even that scary.

I pinkie swear, super secret MAYer handshake promise

:banana::banana::snooty::snooty::banana::banana:

Please do it for me! Please :flower3:

We usually eat at Pizzafari. It is typical Disney pizza, like you get at the food courts or at Pizza Planet, etc. You can get a salad with the pizza, sort of like a value meal I think. My kids really like there. We are usually there in warm weather so we are glad to sit down in the A/C for a bit.

In the evenings, it seems like we end up at Restaurantasaurus (not sure how the heck to spell that.) My kids LOVE this place. They have McDonald's chicken nuggets and french fries. The burgers are typical WDW hamburgers. If you ask my kids, this would be their first choice for this park.

I hope this helps.

I usually pick a counter service here that is close to where we are touring, rather than crossing the park to eat somewhere. The walkways in this park always seem very crowded to me so I like to walk as little as possible here.

Have fun with your friend! What a great adventure for her! She will have a great tour guide in you!

I was supposed to testify in court this afternoon in the case where the teenage girl rear ended a boy causing his car to rear end mine. This happened over a year ago. The one where she lied and said a bus hit her. Well, praise the Lord, her insurance company settled the case yesterday and paid the boy for his damages.

My BFF and I are having lunch today. It was a sort of pep me up lunch because I was dreading going to court, but now that I am not testifying, we are celebrating the fact the case has been settled.

I need to finalize a few DC things. I can't believe we leave on Tuesday. I am so excited.

Chloe has drum lessons and Chris has allergy shots this afternoon.

Tomorrow we are going to the lake all day.

Yikes! My trip will be here before you know it!

I've done Splash, actually 3 or 4 times....Including a double ride through. It's just not one of my favorites. Every time I get on it though I have a bit of a freak-out moment. I much prefer the smaller rides :)

Hello again MAYers!

I am posting to you from my new house!!! Yep, I have internet and we don't even live here yet!:rotfl:

Thanks for all the great dining suggestions everyone!

Sulley - yep, we went to Sci-Fi once and loved it. We didn't go in January, so we are looking forward to going back on this next trip! All the boys love the CP breakfast. I don't usually eat breakfast, but I even think it is good. We are going to the Turf Club on your recommendation! :thumbsup2

OK. Well, I won't force it on you then :rolleyes1

Hey Sulley - You're 1 post away from 1000!!!!
