Saturday May 30-- Disneyland!!!

So my eyes pop open at 4 am pacific time, 6 am central time. I've had only a few hours of sleep. Decide it's not time to get up and snooze until 5 am when I hear Marky say "Are you up baby?"

Up???????????????? Who the heck would be asleep??? Disneyland is right outside my door, ding dong, of course i'm "Up", silly!

We decide that we have to go buy tickets. Yes, my wonderful precious Marky planned me a trip but failed to buy the park tickets so off we scoot for our first look of the Land at 6:30 am.

We walked outside our door, down to the street and took a left, walking with hardly anyone else around
and walk under the entrance to see this --- Here I'm standing in the middle of this plaza like thing. I had no idea, but Disneyland and California Adventure face one another. So here I stand, look to the left- and get this pic- California Adventure!

and to my right, staying in the same spot-Disneyland!

We stood in line for tix- and next- it was time for coffee since we couldn't get into the parks for another hour.

Up next-- Jo sees Walt's Park for the first time. :)

Nice early morning pictures. DL is so quaint when there are only a few people around the park.

I never ride the bus anymore. It always makes me sick. I follow in my car and usually another mom will ask if she can ride with me.

That's funny, I just said to DH the other day - I wonder if the school would care if I drove my own car and just followed to the next field trip? :rotfl:

The moms report:

MIL came home yesterday afternoon - she had a UTI so that was the cause of all the pain. Her appetite came back and she is eating quite well right now with no complaints. She has difficulty walking and getting around but hopefully her strength will come back soon.

My mom was moved out of ICU today to a regular room. Saw her yesterday and she looks pretty good. She is getting great awesome care at UCLA.

Sea

Great news on your MIL and mom Sea. That sucks about the UTI, but it sounds like they are both slowly but surely making some good progress. :cheer2:

Well, since I am completely disgusted with the Penguins at the moment :furious: and can't watch another moment of this pathetic excuse of a game.... I figured I would pop in with a house update.

We had the inspection today! It went really well - nothing major was found.:woohoo: The biggest things that we can see eventually being an issue is that the gas meter is inside the basement - Which only happens in older homes so that shows us that it has never been replaced. Our inspector suggested that we get the gas line protection and then whatever happens it will be covered. The water heater is at the end of it's life (13 years), but we know people to do the labor - so I'm not too worried about it. The bathtub needs re-caulked because there was some prior water damage, but it's mainly cosmetic damage at this point.

On the plus side - The roof is less than 10 years, the furnace, air conditioner, all the electrical, foundation, insulation, etc etc everything is in great condition and newer. So - it looks like the next step is talking to our lender and sealing the deal! :banana:We don't know about a closing date yet - but our realtor said that it could easily be on July 1st. :scared1: So, we have lots to get done before then!

Morning...

So glad things are looking good for your mom's SEA.

RF- great news on the inspection. Sounds like things are falling into place.
---and our Pens need that home ice afterall.

Jo- welcome home you lucky lucky girl.

Shelly- how far is it frome Grove City to Pittsburgh. In case we wanted to stay outside of Pittsburgh this time. Maybe somewhere between.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend. Supposed to warm up to 80 today. :)

Thanks Lake! I hope it works out. :wizard:

AND about the Pens - reguardless what happens... We still have to win one in Detroit. :sad2: I hope that they get whatever bug this is out of their @** and start playing like they deserve to be there.

Oh, and it's a little less than an hour from Grove City to Downtown. :goodvibes

Hello MAYers!

Another beautiful warm sunny day here. Looks like some rain is coming our way soon though.

The garage sale went well yesterday. We didn't get rid of everything, but did get rid of a lot!

Lake - from the outlet mall (right by the interstate) it's about 45 minutes to downtown Pittsburgh.

Thanks for the mom & MIL report Sea. Hope they are both getting stronger everyday.

Hello MAYers.

Just back from taking the kids to the pool-- now Mark has taken all three to get their hair cut and I am just chillin.

Sea- such good news on Mom 1 and Mom 2!!!! Hope all is looking up for both of them.

Shelly- yay for garage sales! I looove having them, just hate the amount of work it takes to do it.

RF- good news on the inspection.:thumbsup2

Lake-- to PGH it isn't really all that far from the outlets.

Has anyone seen the movie Taken? OMG- we watched it last night.

My girls aren't leaving the house til their at least 45.

I'll work on the TR now.....

Jo

Disneyland, continued.

So off we go thru the little gates they have into DTD in search of the coffee fix.

The World of Disney Store-

Came upon the Grand Californian Hotel and I was so excited to go in b/c it was done by the same architect as the WL in WDW---
I wasn't disappointed.

Entrance into the hotel-

Got our coffee from this little lounge area-

and then sat at the fireplace and had coffee and blueberry muffins.
I'd rate Breakfast very good overall.

A little note about the hotel and ambiance--
the hotel is beautiful. As soon as we walked in, Mark looked at me with "that" look- he was sorry he hadn't made ressies there. You just feel soooo relaxed and peaceful inside of it. I actually think I like it better than the WL, crazy enough.

So after we were good and caffienated, it was time to head back to the front gates of the LAND!

We stood in line- it was opening at 8 am, but Magic Morning (the equivalent to EMH) had already been going on for an hour.
They opened the gates, and the time had come. We were stepping into Disneyland.

DSC03391.jpg

I was completely surprised at how teeny tiny the train station looked compared to the one in WDW. But not bad surprised. Cute surprised.

Headed left towards the tunnel to begin our journey and see this sign above:

It was there that I started to cry.

Jo

Morning ..It's a packing day for me today.
Things have slowed down a bit, so I can get back to it again.

But I did spend some time looking into our Pittsburgh trip.

Shelly and RF... I think we are looking at coming to Pittsburgh Aug1-3.
We have hotel points we need to use with Choice hotels..The Quality Suites/Comfort Suites chain. So I am just browsing which hotel we want to use for two nights.

Maybe by the airport in Coraopolis, as it's on our way in..and only 10 minutes from downtown..and then we'll do the outlet on our way home on the 3rd.

So let me know what days you guys would be free for a meet if you still want to. And where? Jason and the kids want to do the zoo for sure, and probably the incline and station square again. Those are our for sure things.
But are open to other meeting place or suggestions.

It will be a great get away for us, only 4 weeks after we move in. :)

That weekend should be good for us Lake. I'd say we would be more interested in meeting up at Station Square than the Zoo.

We could also do a picnic/cook-out at our new house on the 3rd after you are done at the outlets if you want. . . . .

Am I the only one with kids still in school:rolleyes1

You must all be out enjoying summer vacation .

Yep! Poor kids! How many days is their school year? Either they have more days than we do here or they get way longer breaks throughout the school year. . . :confused3

Oh well, you can probably get more packing done this way! :rotfl:

I still haven't started. Just doesn't seem real yet I guess.

Good morning friends.

Congrats Shelly on a successful garage sale.

RF - Sorry to hear about your team. You have my permission to cheer for my Lakers!

BTW, did anyone see or hear about this?

And oh yea...check out this new TV ad...our new dragon for F! debuts this Friday!

Jo - Great pictures! Can't wait to read more about your trip!

Sea

Wow JO, I can't get over how much the Grand Californian looks like the WL. Weird. Not at all what I expected it to look like. :confused3 I guess I thought it would be more like the GF.

Still loving your report & pics! So glad you took more than 4 pictures! ;)
