These Are The MAYS of our Lives- The MAYers, Part VI

hi guys...it's been an awful weekend. My mom had a stroke, probably Thursday night, but we didn't totally realize it until Saturday morning. Spent all day in the ER Saturday, she was in the hospital until last night. They let her come home -- her speech and motor skills seem okay but her memory and concentration are really bad, and she gets pretty confused at times. I am staying with her a couple of days but we are hoping like crazy that she will be able to stay on her own in this senior apartment. I can't live with her and take care of her indefinitely -- I have to keep working. I'm really worried. We could really use everyone's prayers.

 Praying for you and your mom. God bless you for taking such good care of her.

Sending prayers your way Katiebell.

Also thinking of our brave men and women today.
Rememberance Day is a big one for my family, seeing as my brother and his wife both serve in the Canadian Military, and so did my grandfathers.

LEST WE FORGET!

KB - sending good thoughts your way. My dad also had a stroke some years ago when he went into the hospital to have a knee replacement. He had it sometime in the night after the surgery. They thought he was just drowsy and unresponsive due to morphine but later discovered he had a stroke.

I know how stressful it can be seeing someone not completely there anymore. The human body is amazing in how it can recover. Just have faith in that. Also one of the key things to do with a stroke victim is to work the brain. You have to keep trying to reboot so to speak.

Jo - July???? Sizzle - Shizzle!!! Crank up the AC!

LOL--- he's the one that wants ONLY the POLY. Thinks it's wonderful.

thinking of ....gasp....... the week before July 4th now. Eeeeek! :lmao:

Scary crowds. Horrible Humidity. Holy hotness.

:cloud9: Loverly Disney. :cloud9:

:rotfl:

RF- double check those cards that they don't have a fee if you don't use them after 6 mos.

Lots do nowadays.

KB - I am so sorry to hear about your mom - HUGS!! You are in our thoughts and prayers today.

My uncle and father-in-law also served in WW2. Today my wife is visiting the cemetery to remember her father. Thank you for reminding us!

I talked to Shelly earlier this afternoon and she said they were doing really well! :woohoo: They had some rain last night but that was it. She said it was very windy earlier in the week and it was a bit humid today. They were waiting for the bus to MK as we were talking and they were going to check out some monorail resorts today, too. That's all I'm going to tell you, because I don't want to ruin her TR.

Oh how I wish I could have been there too! :headache: I told her to keep having fun for all of us!!! pixiedust:

:idea:Were they chosen as family of the day? Did they win a dream?

Darn, I really want to know! :headache:

Hi guys. I'm here! :goodvibes I had a nice day off today - I went shopping with my friend Rachel and got a few 'inspiration' pieces. I bought a size 12 top and a size 16 dress. The dress is a bit tight and I wanted to get it so I would have something nice once I lost a little more weight. princess: I haven't done great at all since Halloween week - so it's time to get started again. :yay:

KB - Praying for you and your family. Stay strong, I know how hard it is to stay positive and happy when everything hits you at once. We're ALL here for you. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Sea - Pretty soon!!!! :sail: I am so jealous!

Trix - Thanks for the update on Shelly. Can you at least tell us if something BIG happened??? :rolleyes1 I promise I'll still read her TR. I pinkie swear :flower3:

All caught up- this work thing isn't giving me much time to DIS lately. :sad2:

Katiebell- I pray your mom recovers fully and quickly. She's very lucky to have such a wonderful daughter to take care of her. Prayers and Hugs.

Glad I set your mind at ease Kim.

Hope your construction work finishes soon and without any hiccups!

Sea

Kim and Lake - You guys have both been really busy with home improvement projects. When do you think you will be finished?

Well, I have taken a little job at the school on Tuesdays from 2:30 til 3:30 teaching a study skills type of class to 6th graders. However, when I went in for the meeting today, they also told me, I will be covering sex education with the children as well. :scared1: There are 6 of us teaching the course. Only one other mom looked shocked at the sound of that besides me. I just didn't know it was part of the curriculum. :confused3

Oh well, the things I get myself into!

Oh my! Good luck with teaching that topic!

My project probably won't be finished anytime soon. It's a weekend project that my DH works on whenever he can. I'm hoping to have it done before we leave for our trip in Jan but I doubt it. We'll see!
A Kamikazi deer ran itself right into my parents car last night.:scared1:

My dad swerved quickly so they missed the head on collision and it crashed into the passenger side doors.

Luckily and happily my parents are both okay. Their new car however, not so much. :sad2:

And the deer, it should be charged with hit and run, as it fled the scene.
Glad they were both okay...scary! Hope insurance covers the car damage.

Sea - You leave tomorrow!!!!

Good morning!

Shelly - Can't wait to hear all about your trip.

Hi NC and Jodi... how is the weather in AK. It's frosty here this morning... I can see my breath.

Mari - How goes school?

KB- Hang in there. Sending you some mayer pixie dust.

Sulley- Hope you are feeling better, and the new job is going great.

Kim- I hope your home project is going well.

Trixie- Frankenmuth...any ideas or thoughts that we can run by Shelly when she returns.

RF- Jason wants to know if you and Bob have the enhanced drivers licenses... apparently if you have that you may not need a passport?????

Sea- have a fantastic vacation. Well derserved for all of you. Can't wait to hear about all of it. haha Will we get some SEA lunch and dinner reports with pictures from on board? That is the one thing I really remember from our cruise. The meals were fantastic.

Another busy day here. Let me just say that I am currently moving furniture back in place and loading up book shelves again... yep.. we are almost done. :)

My new office... is AWESOME! I am sitting it it now as I type to you instead of at the diningroom table. I can't even tell you how long I have wanted this...a place for me to read and write and scrapbook all of my own. A place where I can just shut the door and get away from everything. Jason has done a tremendous job. I have the best hubby!

Okay... off to take Emmy to gymnastics.

Have a great day everyone.
