The new thermostats at OKW are much better than the old. They have the temperature right on them clearly indicated. They are also easier to work. I was turning them on and off while I was there in January, mostly heat, but for a few hours one day I used the air. At any rate they are much better than the old ones. I was in a renovated unit. I am sure you will all find them to be a lot easier to work.

We were at OKW last July and our unit had a new digital thermostat. I couldn't stand it. I don't know whether it was one of the new ones with the motion sensors or not, but I couldn't keep the temperature stable no matter what I would do. We would come into the room late in the day and the room would be hot even though I left the thermostat at 75 or so. I would turn it down and it would quickly become too cold. I could never set it and forget it like I do at home. Then at night, it was so warm a couple of times it woke me up and I had to adjust the thermostat which NEVER happens to me at home.. I would turn it down it would cool off and be warm again in the morning.

Like I said, I don't know if it was one of those motion sensing thermostats or not, but in 10 years that was the first time I could not keep the termperature in the unit set at what I wanted it be. We are going again this summer and if I have similar problems Maintenance will be getting calls this time. I am all for lower electrical bills but not to the point where I am uncomfortable in my '2nd home.'
