There's No Place Like Home - an Oct. 2014 PTR! *NEW 2/13 X2*

First, the cast of characters for this magical adventure:

Me: :tinker: I’m a 15 year old Disney fanatic! This is me on my first trip (Feb. 2003):

Fav. Ride: BTMRR
Fav. Attraction: Mickey’s Philharmagic
Fav. Disney Movie:ummm...all of them! Haha! (seeing a pattern here?)

He’ll be 12 (almost 13 as I’m expecting him to frequently remind us) on this trip & is normally the thrill seeker child in this family...but not when it comes to rides. That role falls to me (the normal scaredy-cat); go figure, right? This is us with DDad in 2009:

And in 2013:

A little about him...

Fav. Ride: Test Track...which he’s never ridden...but whatever :confused3

Hey y’all! Thanks for tuning into my PTR; now for some more details!

So if you read my TR from Jan. 2013 (for which you can find the link here), you know that after that girls-only trip, DM & I were having some serious withdrawals. More so than usual. Normally after a few weeks back home, we miss it but are able to get on with our lives. Not this time. We were stuck in WDW in our minds, and there was nothing we could do about it. So we began planning for our next trip. :thumbsup2 When the one-year-until-our-trip mark hit in October :woohoo:, we began the serious planning, much to DLB & DDad’s dismay. They’d rather DM & I do all the planning without telling them about it. Nice try, guys!:lmao: Planning the trip has quickly come a common dinner table topic. Now, unfortunately not a lot is set in stone at this point, but we do have a pretty good plan started.

And when, you may be asking yourselves, is this magical adventure going to take place? Well, that’s just it. For a while, we weren’t sure when we would go. This was what we really wanted for this trip, and that helped us decide when to go:

~ MNSSHP
~Food & Wine Festival
~ miss as little school as possible

So, after much deliberation, we decided on October 3-12, 2014, during which our school's Fall Break falls (no pun intended :rolleyes1). DM & I pushed to leave on the third rather than the fourth, and when DDad found out about the Tower of Terror Run in DHS on Oct 4th, he relented & now we have an extra day! Yay!
After DM & I flew to WDW for the first time in Jan. 2013, we knew we were spoiled & would never want to drive again. Fortunately for us, DM has enough Southwest points for the 4 round trip tickets to Orlando. Score! The flight schedule hasn’t been confirmed that far out, but as of right now it looks like we’ll be flying out around 10:30 AM on Oct. 3rd, landing in Orlando about 12:30 PM. :yay::cool1:

Originally, DM & I really wanted to stay at AoA...really bad. But after much deliberation & research (& realizing that AoA is still often NOT included in room discounts) we decided that 2 standard rooms at another, less expensive value resort would be better. After looking into it some more, we decided on...

Pop Century!

We stayed at Pop back in 2007 & really liked it, so we were happy with this decision. One day, though, DM & I are determined to stay at AoA. :) In Jan. 2013, we walked all over the resort taking pictures:

Who wouldn't want to stay there??:confused3:upsidedow

Well, that's all for now folks!
See ya real soon! :wave2:

Hey, y'all!! I'm back with some more details on this most magical trip :banana:pixiedust:

So, I just have to say that in light of the fact that my dad is now officially registered for the ToT Run, we are OFFICIALLY going to Disney World!!! :cool1::cool1::woohoo::woohoo:pixiedust:pixiedust: And we only have...51 days until we can make our ADRs & 232 days until we leave.

232 is a big number, but with all the planning & research DM & I are having to do b/c of FP+, I'm hoping it will go by quickly. :thumbsup2 Before we know it we'll be putting up The Great Mouse Down! pixiedust: I don't have a recent picture, but this is when we first made it back in 2008 (ish....I think :confused3)

And on that note, it's time for me to write an actual update for this trip. Hopefully I'll have it up quickly. :rotfl:

See ya real soon! :wave2:

Hey, y'all! It's time for that update I promised! :cool1:

This past weekend, DM & I had quite a bit of down time (for once), so I got out my notebook and Touring Plans app, & we started making plans for the nine days we’ll be in WDW. Now, we haven’t booked our room reservation yet & our 180 mark is still 51 days away & park hours haven’t been officially released yet, so none of this is definite...but for now, this is what our plan looks like :)

Fri. Oct. 3rd: fly into Orlando; check into Pop; MK for the afternoon; Pecos Bill for dinner
Sat. Oct. 4th: AM EMH @ AK; breakfast at Tusker House; swimming/mini-golf; ToT Run for DDad at 10 PM
Sun. Oct. 5th: spend the morning in DTD/ Disney Quest; eat a late lunch at Kona; MNSSHP that evening
Mon. Oct 6th: spend the first part of the day in Typhoon Lagoon; go to Epcot for F & W for dinner
Tues. Oct. 7th: go to SeaWorld; eat dinner at Sweet Tomatoes; ice cream at Beaches & Cream & maybe spend the evening in MK
Wed. Oct. 8th: spend all day at Epcot; PM EMH until 11PM
Thurs. Oct. 9th: spend the day at DHS; dinner at Mama Melrose; Fantasmic!
Fri. Oct. 10th: rest day; possibly BB; dinner at WCC
Sat. Oct. 11th: our last park day:( rope drop for MK; dinner at Be Our Guest
Sun. Oct. 12th: board the plane back to reality :(

Sat. Oct. 11th is the only day we know for sure we're going to rope drop it, but I imagine that we'll end up doing it on other days as well. DM & I are very fast-paced when we're in WDW; our motto is "We're in Disney World! You can sleep later!" Yeah.....the guys don't appreciate that very much. :rotfl::confused3

Well, that's all I have for now, folks!
See ya real soon! :wave2:

Hey, y'all! So, remember how I said that our plan wasn't definite yet?? Oh, you don't? Well, let me remind you....

Now, we haven’t booked our room reservation yet & our 180 mark is still 51 days away & park hours haven’t been officially released yet, so none of this is definite...but for now, this is what our plan looks like :

Yeah, well keep that in mind because, guess what? Our plan has changed! :rotfl: It isn't anything too drastic, but now we are going to AK on Fri. Oct. 3rd & MK on Sat. Oct. 4th...see nothing too bad. :thumbsup2 D

DM & I have been talking about this trip non-stop all weekend! Next week we're planning to do a Disney night, where we'll make a dish from each of the four restaurants we want to go to and talk about the trip. :cool1: Something tells me that the guys are going to hate us after this...:lmao: This is what we're planning on making:

Sticky Chicken Wings (Kona)
Margarita Flat Bread (Mama Melrose)
Salad w/ Apple Vinaigrette (Whispering Canyon)
Lemon Meringue Cupcake (Be Our Guest)

I'm really looking forward to this, despite the fact that it's a mix-n-match of foods that don't normally go to together. :thumbsup2

Oh, & can I just say that we have.....

48 days until we can make ADRs
229 days until we leave! :cool1::cool1::banana::banana::cheer2::cheer2::yay::yay:

I seriously can't wait!

That's all for now folks!
See ya real soon!
