Hi Jcc! I know how you feel, I start reading everyone's TR's right before I go on a trip too. It helps the time pass doesn't it? Only 2 more months 'til August though. Are you going for the P & P Party?

The Lurrrv I got from Bridget Jones' Diary, I think it was always spelled Lurrrv, can't remember. That or my yahoo group that I'm on where we're always saying Lurrrv.

I am soooo jealous. I want an all girls trip to WDW. I don't think my husband and kids would understand. Sounds fun!!

I say if you can plan one with good friends or daughters/mothers then go for it. We had a blast!

Am I the only one that remembers that show? That was good TV there. They don't make shows like that anymore.

The next morning we got a wake up call from Stitch and the big cheese himself. DC had requested one the night before and although we didn’t understand a word Stitch said it was fun to be awakened that way.

Yani was already awake and taking a shower and the phone rang in both rooms and woke up Collette and Monica. DC stumbled her way to make some coffee. I ate some cereal and so did DC. I asked everyone else if they were going to eat something before we left, but everyone decided not to. Yani just drank coffee. I told them that this would be our only food until we ate lunch at 1pm (remember this bit). Everyone kept with their choices, oh well.

So we all trekked outside into the cold cold morning towards the bus stop and I made a stop at the front desk to see if I had a package in the form of a cute little croc from the DIS, but she still hadn’t arrived. We didn’t have to wait long since there was already a bus headed to our park du jour waiting. So we hopped in said good morning to the lovely family already seated and thanked the Disney stars that the buses were warm.

Notice my Cuz's sandals? I have no idea what that child was thinking . Later on that morning she steals my socks that I had packed for me because I was sporting my Nile Crocs for the very first time and brought the socks along in case my feet got cold.

Anyhoo.

Ready for our destinaton? Drumroll please!

This was our destination this fine cold morning:

We arrived around 8:30 am woohoo! So far my OCDP was paying off and we were just in time for park opening. We huddled to keep warm because we were freezing and waited and waited to be let in. I explained The Plan to everyone, which was to run towards Soarin’ to get a FP.

Finally the CM’s started to let people in and when a new gate opened up we quickly made our way to it and were allowed into Epcot! We started power walking towards the Right of the big Golf Ball aka Spaceship Earth and then stopped.

What!

Why is everyone stopping? Collette and Monica were right up front and when the rest of us get there we see a line of CM’s holding off the crowd. Huh?

You see I’ve never really been to any of the parks right when they open so this is all new to me. Apparently it wasn’t official park opening time. So we wait around and as we’re waiting the CM’s are making announcements that Soarin’ is currently not operating and temporarily shut down. We ask if they’re still giving out FP’s and are told they are but for later in the day. No prob, I have a Plan on what to do while we wait for our Soarin’ FP time. So we’re waiting and waiting when all of a sudden a bunch of characters start strolling out. OMG look!

There’s Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Chip & Dale, Mary Poppins. Some of the characters come to our side of the line of CM’s and we actually get a picture taken with Goofy (I'm poking my head up between Goofy and Collette):

Then there’s an announcement and the countdown begins. It was all very exciting.

The CM’s walk away into the park with everyone hot on their heels.

Collette and Monica power walk ahead of everyone in the crowd towards Soarin’. We get to the Land pavilion head inside and up and around and down. Some restaurant, can’t remember the name (I know bad DISer) has all the CM’s outside clapping and shaking tambourines and welcoming us, but we’re on a mission. We make the last turn and see the FP distribution of Soarin’ sheesh could they had made it further? I had already gathered everyone’s passes to get our FPs. I stand in a fairly short line, which of course takes forever because I always stand in the line that looks the shortest, but ends up being the slowest. Oh well, so I finally get to the machine and efficiently obtain our FPs from 11:30-12:30pm. Not bad. I take a quick picture of the line:

So our lesson for today is get to Soarin' as quickly as possible because the FP line forms fast.

I Find the girls and off we go to ride some rides. We start heading towards Test Track and Mission Space, but get lost. Backtrack and find the right way thanks to my loverly co-pilot and co-navigator DC. She has an amazing mind when it comes to maps and directions. Anyhoo. We get to our destination and have to choose which one to do. They both have a minimal wait time and none of us have ridden either one of the rides. We opt for Test Track because that one always had a long wait time the other times I had been to Epcot (which is why I’ve never ridden it).

Hi and welcome! It's great to be able to make that 3-4 hour drive to The World isn't it. Collette is a real blast and she's always going in and out of her accents (British, NY, and Jamaican).

We make it through the line pretty quickly and right when we were up next to get on, the ride shuts down.

Unbelievable!

It’s 9 something in the morning how could it be shutting down already?! We’re all a little mad about this. Then of course, when the ride comes back up our queue was supposed to be the next one for the doors to open, but do they? Noooooo, the last queue’s door opens, then the first queue’s, then the last queue’s. Unbelievable! Finally our turn comes. We eventually get into our car, Yani and DC a little freaked:

We all survived our test session and had a blast. Very fun ride!

When we got out we browsed the car gallery and then headed out. I went to check on the wait time for Mission Space, but it was already too long so we decide to not go on it.

Where to go next, hmmmm.

We take a look at the map and decide to go ride the Nemo ride. So we start heading over to the Living Seas. We stumble upon a gift shop though and decide to go in to warm up a little, it was still cold out. The store was huge. DC immediately wandered off, which you’ll see becomes a routine for her. Collette and Monica wandered off and Yani and I tried to browse around keeping them within our sights. I decided to go off in search of a fairly cheap jacket ‘cause I was freezing my butt off and had left my jacket at home in Miami. I found a cute jacket that says Where Dreams Come True on the back with Cinderella Castle and a bunch of Disney characters in front of it. Very cute and cheaper than all the other jackets they had.

Let me tell you about my weird purchase process. I seek out the nearest register and find one that only has 1 person in line. It’s an older couple and they are happily talking with the CM (an older CM) and he’s happily talking with them back. So I’m standing in line all smiley at their conversation because they’re all so cute. When it was my turn I have no clue what happened to the CM, but he suddenly became Mr. Grumpy. I smiled at him and said hello when I approached the counter for him to ring me up and he didn’t even say hello back! ***! I have no idea what crawled up his bum and died. It’s as if someone hit a switch on him to turn him from Happy to Grumpy . Whatever. He rang me up and I thanked him and didn’t even receive a your welcome. UGH. Maybe I should’ve pulled out UtahMama’s “Do you know who I am?” and walked away.

I went on the lookout for the rest of the girls. Finally rounded everyone up and headed out of the store. We wasted a good 20-30 minutes in there and I was starting to panic since we were veering away from The Plan. As we walked out Yani was on the lookout for a coffee stand. She went off to get coffee and so did Collette and Monica. DC and I sat down on a bench and had some snacks we had brought while we waited.

We eventually get to the Nemo ride and after some pictures with Nemo and Friends got in line. The ride was very cute and the line decoration leading up to it was fun. We found Bruce the shark and took some pictures with him and wandered around the showcase area. DC wandered off, again and Yani and I consulted the map on what to do next. Turtle Talk with Crush was the nearest attraction so we consulted with the group and everyone was onboard. We headed to the waiting area for Turtle Talk and were told the next show time wasn’t for another 15 min., alrighty then. DC wandered off (do you see a pattern emerging here?). The rest of us waited patiently. While waiting, we met Mr. Ray and he came up to say “Hi” to Yani:

A CM comes back and starts letting people in to line up (again) for the show. Where’s DC? Of course she’s not back. My cell doesn’t have reception and neither does Yani’s. I try to text her to get her little butt back, but again there’s no reception inside this building. So I start to walk out to find her and she happens to be walking back. So good timing on her part, I give her a stern “Where were you.” She just happily tells me that she saw a dolphin and my anger turns into curiosity because I lurrrve dolphins. But right now we have a date with Crush.

Crush was awesome Dudes! I highly recommend it if you have offspring. We decide to walk around the observation area inside the Living Seas. DC takes us to see the dolphins and we see some manatee. Wander around a bit, hit the gift shop and make some purchases. By this time it’s getting close to our FP time. So I tell everyone we need to head back to Soarin’ then afterwards we have our lunch reservation.

We finally get back to The Land and search for the entrance to Soarin’. We find the entrance and begin the endless walk toward the ride. I check the time and it’s 12:30pm and think we’re going to cut it close with our ADR. We didn’t really accomplish much as far as rides went, granted it’s kinda hard to boss 4 grown females around and even though I was the ring leader here I was being very kind with the whole browsing places and gift shops which were time killers. Oh well.

So we’re still waiting in line for Soarin’ and waiting and waiting and we’re not moving. We’ve been here for at least 10 min. and I’m seriously considering not doing Soarin’ to get to our ADR. What to do! I’m torn and end up settling on just staying here and ride Soarin’ and hope that they’ll hold our 1 pm ADR.

As soon as I had made my mind up to stick it out our line starts moving. Woohooo! We’re then led to the queuing area tell the CM how many in our party and our directed to stand on some numbers. I thought to ask for a no feet view as UtahMama had done, but at that moment I was more concerned about trying to get through the ride and make it to our ADR. Patrick Warburton aka Puddy from Seinfeld aka Kronk aka Superman in the Seinfeld American Express commercials pops up on the little TV and gives us instructions. The doors open and we’re led into the ride. We store our belongings and settle into our seats. DC, Yani and Collette are a little panicky about the ride and I have no way to console them because I’ve never been on this ride either. So we patiently wait and the ride begins.

The ride is great , next time I’ll try to get the no feet view, but it was quite enjoyable even with the feet. We all really liked it and quickly gathered our stuff and I checked the time and it was already 1 pm. Can we make it to our ADR?! At least I know where I’m going this time, even though I’m not sure exactly where the restaurant is.

It is SO hard to get everyone going the same way on a trip when they are not your family. If it were your family you could threaten them and get them to do what you wanted them to do! Oh, did I say threaten...I meant uh encourage them to get with the program. but when its friends, you have to at least pretend to be nice because they might not stick around like family has to!

I'm loving the interaction so far. I totally agree about the Crush show. My kids adore it.

And is that the sound of of little princess feet I hear in the background?

Yaaa more great updates! I think its hard to get on a lot of stuff at Epcot. When I figured out my touring plan...we arent going to be able to see much (especially since we are returning to the hotel) Oh well, we will just have to come back
I am so glad you recommended Seas with Nemo and Turtle Talk. We will be doing those and also Soarin and Test Track. If we can score those, I will be glad!
