Where did I leave off? Oh yes, Pop Pop was able to get his sunglasses back and DBIL and DSIS went off to watch the finale of AI. DHS was closing today at 6pm because of Senior Night, so we made our way to Hollywood Blvd and people watched.
Pop Pop struck up a conversation with the Photopass photographer who let us rescue DS earlier from behind the barracades. As she spoke with Pop Pop she snapped TONS of pictures of DS and DD playing. They are sooooo cute! I haven't uploaded any of those, so I will have to add them in later.
While they ran around and Pop Pop chatted, I decided to give exDH a call and let him know the kids were fine, etc. I had been sending him pics from my cell and text messages but hadn't called. I chatted with him for a bit and took some pictures of a near empty park and the set up for Senior Night.
As I was taking this pic, a HUGE group of security came out, had a briefing in front of the hat and then made their way to the battle stations. There were 3 other groups that would come out like this. There were also these tall Security towers - I guess so they could see over the crowds.
DS loves to chase birds!
Pop Pop was telling me about the Photopass photographer. She said that the busses for Grad Nite would start arriving at 7. Disney sends out security to the hotels and each student is searched before they can get on the bus. There is an additional security in front of the park for those who stay off property and come in. They also have racks of clothes to provides students with clothes if any of theirs is deemed inappropriate. They cannot carry purses or large backpacks.
AI let out and we met DSIS and DBIL and made our way to the OKW bus stop. We saw the charter busses for Grad Nite pulling in and the very large security set up outside - with the racks of clothes!
We had to wait about 15 minutes for a bus to arrive and we were the only ones on it. After a short and relatively quiet ride back, we hopped off at the Turtle Pond bus stop and walked over to Turtle Crawl to eat at Olivia's. Nonna called after Pop Pop put our name in and received a pager. She was on the plane and settled in. Yes, she was able to eat dinner and the plane was full. The conversation was cut short with the announcement to "Turn off all cell phones and pagers in preparation for take-off."
Pop Pop found DD, DS, DBIL, DSis, and myself in the General Store walking around. He announced that Nonna was on her way and I am not exaggerating when I tell you that everyone in the store stopped to look at my two screaming children who were dancing in a circle and yelling "Nonna here. Nonna here." When the settled down, Pop Pop and the kids had a look at the pin board and traded for some. We traded about 75 pins on the trip so I don't remember which ones we found where.
DD took control of the pager and dropped it when it began to vibrate. We were seated and the CM gave the kids coloring pages. DD was occupied immediately, and DS tried to color. Unfortunately his idea of coloring was eating the crayons so we had to take them away. When DS gets upset he lets out this wail of a scream. Add this to him being hungry and he was not a happy camper. We took turns sitting him on our laps, taking him for a walk, etc. Even the hostesses were helping to keep him occupied.
I ordered a side Caesar salad
and an appetizing - honey chicken wings for my entree
They were delicious!!!!
DS was much better once the food arrived. Our wonderful waiter brought the kids' food out as soon as it was finished so they could get started.
After dinner, I took the kids into the Hospitality House where they watched some cartoons. Pop Pop struck up a conversation with a family from England. Their grandson, about 4 or so, had just gotten into pin trading and he proudly showed off his pins. DD and DS did the same.
DSis was tired and so she and DBIL went back to their room to relax for awhile.
Shortly after we said goodbye to our new friends and leisurely walked back to the room. The plan was to give the kids a bath before Nonna got in and maybe they would still be up to surprise her when she got to the room.
Coming Up - Nonna arrives!
