We bought our Christmas tree yesterday, a 7-8 foot frasier fir. It looks small and skimpy, I think it only made it into the 7 to 8 foot range because of that single huge stick on top. We looked at so many trees, but they all looked skimpy, you could see the trunks. Some trees had nice dense lower branches, but the upper half looked :crazy2: :crazy2:. The ones that had a decent shape looked skimpy. We haven't decorate it yet, but after looking at it today, there is no denying it, it's just ugly! :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 Even the kids commented on how "small" it looked. To think that we paid $50 for it, ugh! The thing is that this tree looked good compared to the several others that we looked at. I should have listened to DH when he suggested that we try another place. :badpc: :worried:

Dont worry mine is leaning , its a little one this year, I just got it to put presents under and for the atmosphere, we are going to WDW in 3 weeks so I said its a small one, but its leaning to one side, I try and fix it but to no avail it leans, Poor Tinkerbell on top almost fell off too......I am sure once you have your lights and ornaments it will be fine.....

Well, go ahead and knock yourself out...get the thing decorated to the hilt and post pics of it online. Then the Disers can all critique it and decide *if* you should keep it or if it's indeed "ugly" and should be done away with. If it is "ugly", as decided by Disers, you can start ALL OVER AGAIN! :rotfl:

Sorry you had bad luck this year. We have a beautiful tree this year, but last year, for the life of us, we couldn't get the darn thing to stand up straight. It leaned to the left all season. I was never so glad to get a tree out of the house as I was last year.

Funny story - when I was in law school, DH's boss was selling Christmas trees as a side project, and sold DH a really nice tree for almost nothing. We put it up, decorated it, and enjoyed it for the holidays. After Christmas, I took all the decorations off and packed them away, and waited for DH to take the tree to the dumpster. Weeks went by and the undecorated tree stood in the stand. It stayed there for almost three months. It was still pretty green, too. One night I decided I had enough. So I dragged the tree and blocked the front door and when he got home, he could not get the door open. I told him he would not set foot in our apartment until the tree was in the dumpster. He took it out immediately.

Denae~funny story! It really lasted 2+ months? :earseek: :earseek: What kind of preservative did you use in the water? ;) :teeth:

BTW, I forgot to mention, the tree is also leaning. :rotfl: :rotfl: It's pitiful! :charac2:

We had the same thing happen to us last year. I called it my Charlie Brown tree. It seemed full when we bought it, but once we got it home, it was really scraggly.

We just put all the lights and decorations on it that it would hold, and that was that.
