just made the appointment with the orthodontist -- older dd's braces come off August 25.

Congratulations to your DD. If I remember from when my braces came off, my teeth were sore for a couple of days. But, it was so nice, to run my tongue along my teeth and not feel metal.

Our ortho doesnt tell parents or kids when they come off..you go in for a regular appointment and they just start taking them off..kid comes out to waiting room braceless! office staff makes a huge deal out of it. Kind of a neat way to do it.

Oh ya, I remember that excitement and the quick trip to the store for the teeth whitening strips to get those discoloration marks off.

Oddball goes next Wednesday to get the brackets on her back teeth. She still has 6 to 8 more months of braces!!!!!!!

I can't believe you posted this! My 15 yr. old DS is getting his off August 13th!! Boy, those 2 years flew by, I can't wait to see his smile. Now, how in the world are we going to make sure they don't lose their retainers at lunch at school??? I think I'm more excited than he is to see him!

Hey, that's my birthday! Another reason to celebrate. My daughter had braces on for 61/2 years. We served all her favorite, sticky, hard to bite foods about a week after. It was wonderful.

I know the feeling! I get mine off August 12th...I'm SOOOO pumped...2 DAYS BEFORE i START MY SENIOR YEAR!

and the best part about getting them off-I HAVEN'T TOLD ANY OF MY FRIENDS! they are gonna be shocked on the first day of school! lol
