Looking to know if theme rooms are important when you are looking for vacation homes, and if so, what characters would you want/not want to see.

It depends on how many rooms you have. I would also stick to gender neutral i.e no princesses etc.

If you had the option, I would have voted "don't care".

If you do want to go that direction, For a 4BR home, I would recommend at most *one room* with something relatively gender-neutral, featuring the Fab Five (Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Donald). For a larger home, you could go with two rooms, one princessy and one piratey (or Fab-Fivey), but then you rule out some family configurations. I still think more than one room might be overkill, but you'd get a better sense from your management company what does and doesn't book well.

I always look for "fun" decorations in a house I rent! I usually look for a room my 2 girls would like to share and also look for a room my son would like. The best houses I have stayed at have little things in the house that are disney, such as mickey mouse handles on the cabinets in the kitchen and mickey mouse ice cube trays. Some have mickey silverware and toasters or waffle makers. I love the extra touches a home owner can put in. If I had a choice between a house decorated in disney or a house that isn't--I would certainly choose the one that has the "magic" :wizard: .

We prefer the themed homes. We have stayed in 2 in the last year, a four bedroom and a 6 bedroom.

My youngest is a girl so we need the pink princess room! They had one in both houses. The four bed also had an Animal Kingdom room and a seaside themed room, each with a queen bed. The master was a mix of black and white with no theme, just luxury.

The 6 bed was Storytime Castle. Very nice theming with Mickey and most rooms were perfect for all ages, some with twin beds and some with queens.

I have to have the themes, but now that my boys are getting older, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Harry Potter etc would be really nice. But let's face it, the pink princess room wins out over all! That is must for us right now.

Personally, I prefer minimal theming--I have 2 teens and 2 younger kids, the teens definitely would prefer NOT to have the highly themed rooms, unless it was an older theme. It really depends if you're thinking one-time rentals, or building up a following, like Romancing the Mouse has--people stay with them year after year.

Funny story--DD16 dated a triplet a couple years ago. His parents rented a 3BR condo, and he got the princess bedroom. But, he said he didn't care--it was his, all his! I guess when you're a triplet, you have to share an awful lot with your brothers.

Can I ask the name/listing agent for this? We have 3 boys and a girl and would like to make everyone happy.
