a question about blt. theme park view. i have stayed many times in contemporary tower theme park view rooms and have always loved it. planning on staying in blt. want to know if view from blt is as good as old cont. my wife says it will not be as good because it is at a different angle ,and parking lot is right under you. any opinions on people who have stayed in both .thanks

well happen to love BLT - okay only (so far) stayed in standard (some of them have a view of the MK too).

it is closer to the MK - so for me the views are better.

to get a good view you need to be higher up than I like to be...:lmao:

DVC is doing away with the lower views (we think) for TH and making them be standard (which they should have been).

so only 5th floor and up in 2013 will be theme park views.

as far as the parking lot - it is the same at the CR - if you look down you see the Parking lot at the CR.

Having just had my first stay in a CR MK view and having had 2 stays in BLT theme park view - one a very low floor and the other stay about as good as it can get at BLT I'm thinking I agree with your wife. But my CR room was the last one in the building to the north so as close as you can get. Still - it's not as much parking lot that you can see from those rooms and is much more landscape. Actual theme park is about the same but what's between is a little different.

I will be disappointed if I get nice view of parking lot when booking theme park view room :(

DH and I stayed in a MK view back in September - we were on the 12th floor and I loved the view :goodvibes

I agree with PP though, if you're on a lower floor I think the parking lot may take away some of the magic!

I personally wouldn't book a theme park view room if I was going to be disappointed with a view of the car park. You are most definitely going to see a lot of carpark if you look downwards.

I guess its all about whether you can block it out - I had a theme park view room last time and it was only on the 5th floor (so I guess probably considered by some to be one of the 'worst' rooms) but I was so very happy that I could see the castle - I barely noticed the carpark and the castle more than made up for it - others would be disappointed with our room - so I guess its all about expectations.:)

You might want to change your reservation then. Theme Park view at BLT/CR is overlooking the parking lot, with the park off in the distance. I loved the view personally. But you do get A LOT of parking lot.

I have stayed on the 7th floor very close to the MK end of the CR and on the 12th floor about as far over to the CR as you can get in a TPV room at BLT. At the CR when I looked down I noticed the grass and trees in front of the resort and when I looked out I saw the MK including the castle. At BLT when I looked down I saw the parking lot and the walkway. When I looked out I saw the castle and Space Mountain. Both were nice views and both were different- I would say the fireworks were more over the castle from the CR room but they were closer from the BLT room.

I disliked the view we had from the 7rh floor TPV. I would say to get a LV and save the points and get a much friendlier view. The parking lot domiinates the view and the fireworks can be viewed from the lounge or skyway. While the less than desirable. View did not ruin my stay at Bay Lake, it did.not seem.special.

Our one experience with theme-park view was very disappointing--it was on the fourth floor and offered more of a view of the Contemporary, the parking lot, and the underside of the monorail. Won't spend the points again.
