We're going to California from New Zealand in October and read that we can purchase Halloween party tickets at Disneyland. We also want a three day pass for Disneyland and California Adventure Park, one day at Six Flags Magic Mountain, one day at Universal Studios and one day at SeaWorld. I see that we can purchase a Citypass ticket for Disneyland and Grand California Adventure and SeaWorld (not including Universal Studios) and would appreciate any advice as for Magic Mountain and Universal Studios. There are 10 of us so it's quite a big cost (particularly with our exchange rate). Many thanks.

While you may be able get Halloween Party tickets at the ticket booths at Disneyland, keep in mind that most of the parties sell out at some point in advance -- sometimes far in advance and sometimes just a few days beforehand. If you want to be sure to go to the Halloween Party, I would order the party tickets online when they go on sale to the general public after 7/29, or perhaps call Disneyland's ticket line and order them over the phone.

Universal Studios should be presenting its Halloween Horror Nights (a separate ticketed event) in October, so that is something for you to consider. The dates have not yet been released.

Six Flags Magic Mountain should have its Fright Fest event going on in October as well. I don't know if the dates have been released.

You should plan to buy your Halloween party tickets once you know your dates. Since they tend to SELL OUT, if you wait to buy when you are at Disneyland, you may find there are no tickets left.

You can sign up to get the newsletters from the theme parks not included in the CityPass. Sometimes they have special offers. You can also check their websites often to see if they have any promotions for the dates you'll be in SoCal.

I know what you mean about the cost for 10 people. I often take 5 others with me, a trip for 6 adds up.

Thank you so much for your replies. Yes I will buy the Halloween tickets on the 29th and subscribe to other theme park newsletters to get updated information.
